Sukuna effortlessly walked to the blanket, gently setting you down before you both redressed quickly.
You both began picking up items, As you bent down to gather the food containers, you felt Sukuna's gaze trailing lazily over you.
Suddenly, a playful smack landed on your backside, breaking the quiet with a sharp echo. You yelped and spun around."Sukuna!" you huffed, his eyes glinted in amusement, as you flushed under his touch.
"Couldn't resist," he murmured, his voice a deep rumble that sent shivers racing down your spine.
With a mischievous smile, Sukuna slung the tote over his shoulder and took your hand, fingers interlacing as he led you down the shoreline. The walk was peaceful, exchanging glances, both of you enjoying the rare calm between the banter and teasing, with Sukuna occasionally chuckled at your stupid jokes or clever remarks.
Walking hand in hand with him felt magical, his sharp edges softened into a tenderness that left your heart aching in the best way. It wasn't just his secure grip or the soft brush of his thumb—it was the way he treated you. Like you were his entire world, his precious little wife in everyway but his last name.
You smiled, still blown away that someone like him had become interested in someone like you. You had not planned for it at all. It made everything before this feel dull by comparison.
As the house came into view, you leaned into him with a contented sigh. He glanced down, his sharp eyes softened for a moment, as if caught off guard by your quiet happiness, before he raised an eyebrow.
"What's up?"
You grinned, swinging his arm playfully. "Be honest... you're gonna miss me, aren't you?"
He scoffed, feigning indifference. "Huh?"
"When I go back home," you said, gesturing toward your chest dramatically. "You know you'll be lost without me."
"I've managed just fine on my own," he muttered, but his tone softened just enough to betray him.
You huffed, giving his wrist a tug, stopping in your tracks. "Miss me a little?" you asked, pouting in a way you knew he couldn't resist.
Sukuna looked away, silent for a moment as if debating his next move. Then, with a shrug, his eyes met yours, and he pulled you closer with a resigned smirk.
"Maybe," he admitted, his tone low and rough. "But I know you'll call or text me every second anyway..."
You flashed him a triumphant grin. "Damn right. You're stuck with me now, like it or not."
He rolled his eyes, feigning exasperation, but there was a flicker of something softer beneath it.
"Ah, so there is a fate worse than death," he mused, squeezing your waist with his rough hands. His warmth pulled you closer, daring you to melt against him.
"Are you honestly telling me you'd prefer I didn't call or talk to you at all?" you challenged.
Sukuna opened his mouth, then closed it just as quickly, staying silent, and you don't miss the way he avoided your gaze.
"Exactly!" You pointed a finger accusingly, feeling a playful thrill in getting him caught.
In response, his hand finds your waist again, slipping to your butt and giving it a small pinch. "Watch it, woman," he warned, though his playful tone betrays any real threat.
You stared into his crimson eyes, drawn in like always, before clinging to his arm. Silence fell between you as gazing off into the distance, your thoughts a mix of emotions you can't quite put into words.
