"You look gorgeous, by the way!" said Bdubs, looking at his brother's new colorful striped outfit with a clock on his hip. "All clocked out."

"He's stunning," said Cleo. The boogeyman announcement came, and none of them were it today. "Well regardless, we go yellow soon."

"Fifteen minutes," said Scar, jumping gleefully into the air.

"I'm not scared," said Bdubs.

"I would never hurt a fellow Clocker! Swear to Jellie!"

"I believe you," said Bdubs with a smile.

"I believe you, said Cleo. "I also believe that Jellie is real."

"We need to craft more bookshelves," said Cleo from the other end of the enchanting setup.

"I have a crafting table!" He placed it.

"So do I- oh. We'll use yours, it's fine."

"Mom!" called Scar.

"Down here, darling."

Scar scrambled down the stairs, sugarcane tumbling from his arms. "I tricked Skizz into being my getaway driver in a boat and I robbed Scott's knockoff panda reserve!"

"I'm so proud of you," said Cleo. She examined the shelves and tucked in a book.

"We don't have an allyship with them so I thought, why not?" Bdubs took the sugarcane off his hands to handle TNT making. "We're enchanting?" Scar continued talking as he dug through the lapis chest, bustled by the crafting table, turned to the enchanter, then looked down at his hands and sighed. "I turned it into dye."

Bdubs peered at the handful of items and exclaimed: "Thirteen blue dye, what are we gonna do with that?"

"I'll do it later," said Scar with a shake of his head. Cleo set some planks in front of the bookshelves to limit enchanting to lower levels. Bdubs handed over more lapis to Scar, who got protection on his boots and was back to his cheerful self. "Let's go! Look at my kicks!"

"You look amazing!" Bdubs said kindly.

"Scar's amazing," said Cleo

"Yes." They watched Scar skip around the room and up the first stair with his shoes glinting.

"So are you, Bdubs."

"Thanks."

"We're the best family!" said Scar distantly.

"Yes," Bdubs murmured. "He's my brother."

"Well I'm gonna go looking for the deep dark," said Cleo.

He hopped up the stairs after her. "You sure?"

"Mom's brave!" said Scar.

She smiled, pleased. "I'm feeling like going feral a bit."

"That's why we love you!" He looked around for Scar- there he was, standing behind the rock to shield his face from the wind. "Scar, do you approve?"

"If you die, who's gonna feed us?"

He was joking, but Bdubs knew there was real worry in the words. He climbed down the rock to squeeze his hand.

"You have a system with which to be fed."

"If the dispenser runs out, Bdubs and I will starve!"

Cleo rolled her eyes. "No, you'll just eat your dogs."

"Or the horses!" Bdubs said cheerily.

Scar wriggled out of his brother's grip. "We need to have a family moment before you go." He ran off to the Nosey Neighbors' house, shouting, "Pearl! Pearl!" Why did the family moment require Pearl, Bdubs wondered, but it turned out Scar wanted an audience for his countdown to yellow, which was actually happening this time. He slid on a yellow pair of sunglasses that matched his new outfit, and did a twirl that made the bottoms of his pants flare out.
