Sonic Prime: Shattered Hedgehog

No Way Out

"Last chance, Blue! The Shard, or your life!" Dread said, threatening the Hedgehogs.

"Settle down Dread." Metal-Bone chided him.

"No! Not until he hands it over!" Dread said, refusing to give up the farce.

Suddenly, Ryder's Regulator chimes. "Ryder! Can you hear me? Are you guys okay?"

"He be anything but okay, me boyo." Dread, who heard him says.

"Who was that?"

"Uhh, Nine, ol' buddy ol' pal, I'm gonna need to put you on hold for maybe fiv-"

Captain Dread points the sword at the Prism Shard, interrupting him. "That treasure be mine."

"Ten minutes." Ryder hastily hangs up.

The whole of Angel's Voyage crew steps closer and threatens them.

"Dread, what are you doing? This wasn't part of the plan!" Sonic exclaimed, confused.

"The plan's changed when you deserted us." Dread lied before he attacks Ryder and Sonic, forcing them to retreat.

Ryder grunts before turning back to them. "Deserted you? What are you talking about. We were gonna come back after we got the Shard!" Ryder said before showing them the Shard.

"Not how it looked to us." Black Rose said pointing her gun at him.

"You know what? That stings. Especially since we're standing right here, proving that we did come back!" Sonic reminds them.

"He makes a good point." Batten shrugs.

"Thank you Batten! At least one of you aren't nutjobs." Ryder said, annoyed.

"Ahem." Metal-Bone reminded him with a deadpan look.

"Two of you." Ryder nervously grins.

"Look, we're not traitors, but right now, we need to take this shard and get-" Sonic begins before Dread goes to attack them again, but is deflected by Metal-Bone.

"Metal? You dare betray me?!" Dread said.

"I heard what you said Dread. Would you really stoop this low?" Metal-Bone asked, appalled by his friend's choices.  "You're lying to your crew to get the Shard for yourself!"

"More lies!" Dread said before pushing Metal-Bone back and charges the two Hedgehogs, who run to the other side of the ship, protecting the shard and dodging attacks by the crew.

"Respect. Our. Boundaries! I expected Dread to take this hard, but what's with the rest of you?" Sonic said.

"You're a lousy traitor who abandoned your crew in battle!" Sails said.

"We didn't abandon you! Dread told me to get the Shard, and he w-"

"He's lying!" Dread lied as he jumps in front of the crew and threatens Ryder by swinging and pointing his sword. "Now give me the treasure."

"You know... now that I think about it..." Ryder holds it out to him. As Dread evilly grins at him, Ryder flips him off. "Nah!" He sticks his tongue out, blowing a raspberry before grabbing Metal-Bone, and carrying him and the gem out to sea, running away with Sonic following him.

Rex, along with Eggforcer units are seen repairing the ship as Dr. Done-It sees Sonic, Ryder, and Metal-Bone through his binoculars.

"The blue rat is abandoning ship!" He then sees Dr. Deep's backside and recoils. "Oh, for the love of quiche! Do you have to do that right now?"
