The group discovered that the corrupted fragments, called Shards, had infected other VR games connected to the same network as GGO. To retrieve them, they had to dive into these games, each one presenting unique challenges:

In a medieval fantasy VR game, they fought against hordes of knights and dragons, with LLENN using P-chan in wildly inappropriate ways for the setting.

In a racing VR game, Fukaziroh gleefully launched grenades from her car, causing more destruction than necessary.

In a cyberpunk hacking game, Shinon guided them through stealth missions while Zairai inevitably caused problems.

Pitohui thrived in every environment, taking unnecessary risks and delighting in the chaos.

Through it all, Akatana continued to proclaim himself Zairai's rival, much to everyone's annoyance.

"Why are you even here?" Shinon asked after Akatana accidentally triggered a trap.

"To support Zairai, of course!" Akatana replied with a dramatic bow.

"No one asked for that," Zairai muttered.
