To Shinta's surprise when she arrived at the coffee shop stood her whole class even Aizawa. She stopped in her tracks seeing them all and her friends ran up to her and hugged her. Shinta just chuckled some part of her felt weird being around them all knowing of her new abilities, but she knew she had control or should. "When Aizawa heard that I was coming today he decided to tell the class after school we were all going to come and surprise you" Bakugo said pushing past the others and planting a kiss on her lips. "I wanted to see you. Its been too long Shinta. I wish you would just come home" Aizawa said and shinta looked down "You know I cant. If he sees me anywhere near UA I'll never see the light of day" She said to him and he nodded. "Doesn't mean I like it. Your classmates miss you too. That and when your around it makes that one more tolerable" Aizawa said gesturing to Bakugo who was goofing off with some of the others at the moment. Shinta's classmates all headed in and got drinks while Shinta staid outside with Aizawa. It was the first time since she left UA they had seen one another "Dad, I do miss you and would love to come home, but it just isn't safe. I cant put any of you guys in danger. Even if the task force looking for me has been called off. It just wouldn't be worth it" she said. "I know, I can hope though can't I? The day you walk back through the arches of UA just know we will be there for you. Take care of yourself" Aizawa said ruffling her hair some before he headed back off to the school it was hard for him to walk away but he had to respect her wishes.
Shinta took a deep breath before heading in to sit with her friends like she had in the good old days. Something felt so right with the situation even though it still felt wrong being around them all again as well. Things went really well with everyone catching up until Deku brought up the new villain that has been spotted around the city. "So shinta have you managed to catch a glimpse or bump into that new villain Yami? I heard she doesn't typically stick around for long in an area" deku said and Shinta froze for a moment it caught her off guard. The whole table went quiet kinda curious of her answer Bakugo gave her a reassuring squeeze. "No i-i haven't had the luxury of that encounter. I don't really go out much. Been pretty much a recluse until bakugo and I would meet here for our dates" she said and smiled awkwardly 'why did he have to bring that up? What if they can tell I'm hiding something?' She thought to herself. "Thats enough of that. She said she's been in hiding lets just leave it at that. If she wanted to or could tell us more I'm sure she would" Bakugo interjected feeling how tense she felt on the topic.
"Yea, we don't need to do hero talk. were here to spend time with our friend" Kirishima said smiling Denki backing him up. Shinta smiled softly "i have been training still though. I can't stop that if i ever have a chance of keeping up with any of you" Shinta said to her friends at the table "yea right, you were a good fighter before.I'm sure your even better now and could probably run circles around some of us at least" Deku said in her typically cheerful tone. Shinta noticed he had is notebook out and seemed to be writing down a few more notes in it but decided to ignore it for now. He was always writing in that book anyway so what was really new about that. The group talked there for another hour or two before they all went their separate ways. Shinta watched her friends walk back toward UA before she went back to the hideout. Plans were underway the day of the attack was fast approaching, if only she wasn't being kept in the dark with everything. Shinta just had to keep reminding herself that she had a 'bigger' part to play and she was supposed to just 'listen to her gut' when the time came.
Things seemed to go how they normally do over the next few weeks, Shinta noticed here and there the other members preparing for something. And it seemed to be something big from what she could tell. 'I really wish I knew more' would cross her mind every time she would see them doing something out of the ordinary. As the day got closer things began getting more hectic and it was becoming clear to Shinta that this wasn't just a fight but an all out war. That scared her she didn't want to lose her friends, her family or Dabi but she was unsure of how everything was going to unfold. Shinta wound up finally getting to spend some more time with Dabi over the next few months, some of the time just for fun other times for missions. Dabi hinted that he was going to Be making a special announcement during the battle coming up. "Yami on the day of the battle we are going to be taking over the screens. I'm going to be making a special announcement across Tokyo. Let's just say a certain old man's dirty laundry is finally gonna get put out. When the announcement happens you'll know what to do" he told Shinta as they returned from one of their most recent missions with their prize in hand. The training with hawks has really paid off for Shinta, her speed in the air as well as her control of her quirk have improved significantly since her time back at UA. The day of the battle fast approaching and she felt torn; part of her wanted to warn her friends about what was coming even if she didn't really know what exactly.
Finally the day arrived of the big fight, four months had passed of utter chaos. Shinta had even missed some of her coffee dates with bakugo either out of being busy or just too nervous she would say something. Before the fight began the only direction "head towards the area surrounding Jaku General hospital and wait till the time is right. Then do your thing what ever you feel is right" Dabi said before heading off in the direction he needed to go. So many questions still ran through her head about what he meant. 'Does he mean even if I attack other villains? Maybe this is what he meant about do what I feel is right. I guess I'll just have to trust my gut' she thought to herself before heading out to where she needed to go. Shinta would be hanging back she wasn't supposed to get involved until wave three at least of the assault, until then she just had to sit off in the distance watching parts of the city beginning to go up in smoke. The more destruction she saw the more nervous for those she cared about she became this making it harder to just sit there. She could at least tell it looked like some hero at least had been doing evacuations, what she thought was interesting about it was that they had begun the evacuations even before the battle started. Leading her to believe someone warned the heroes which gave her some comfort at least. Soon enough Shinta saw the hospital and the surrounding area get destroyed and she felt her stomach drop.
"That means he's awake...I guess that means time to go. Why did they want me to go directly into the thick of this" she said to herself taking a deep breath before taking off in flight to get there quicker. Once she gets to the very edge of the crater created from Shigaraki's quirk Shinta lands looking around seeing nothing but destruction. "Time to do this" she said pulling her mask down and changing into her Kitsune form but a much larger version. 'Nice so as I thought I can change size based on where I am when I change' she thought to herself as she begun running towards where she told. Until she caught Bakugo and Deku's scent leaving the the area and Shigaraki was chasing them, but she could sense something was different about it. Like he wasn't just him anymore, but someone else was with him. Immediately she changed course following their trail at this point she knew she had to try to help her friends. This wasn't what she signed up for at all. She never wanted a war and didn't want to lose the people she cared about. By the time she gets there the fighting had already begun. She saw Aizawa using his quirk with the aid of other heroes, he was injured already which just angered her. She saw all of her friends were tired and had some injuries further angering her. Thats when she sees Shigaraki trying to go for Aizawa and she charged in deflecting the attack right as Deku and Bakugo also charge back in to help protect their teacher. Endeavor and Ryukyu were fighting Shigaraki which now that Aizawa had a clean line of sight his quirk was stopped. She could see how much he had changed, how much stronger he had become. That was making her nervous the others were wondering who the creature before them was. Bakugo studied the figure noticing the blue in the fur made him wonder. 'Could that be shinta? but thats not her quirk, it can't be. She wouldn't have agreed to let them do that to her' he thought to himself "I don't know who you are but thank you. You seem vaguely familiar but I cant quite place it" Bakugo said to her before the attention went back to the battle in front of them.
Shinta had managed to keep her composure in her large form even though she was starting to feel a bit tired. This was the longest she has been in this form or at this size even since obtaining the new quirk. Thats when she saw Shigaraki throw a quirk eraser bullet at Aizawa as they tried to move him it managed to hit his leg and she growled at shigaraki before she saw Aizawa cut off his own leg to stop the effects from hitting him. In that moment all she wanted was to save him, that and beat the shit out of Shigaraki for what he was doing. Before she could even react they were all in the air, during that split second Aizawa's quirk wavered even if just for a second and Shigaraki released another wave of his Decay quirk destroying things below them. Deku put everyone down carefully before he started going after Shigaraki as well 'Screw hiding who I am I need to help my dad' she thought to herself and in front of everyone's eyes changed from the large kitsune back into Shinta before she rushed over to help Aizawa. "No time for questions. Dad this is gonna hurt some but it will stop the bleeding. Guys please hold him steady I'll try to be quick" Shinta said to Aizawa and the heroes with him Bakugo stood there shocked for a moment before he went back to focusing on the fight. Deku was to enthralled in the fight as were endeavor and Ryukyu to see the transformation. Shinta created a small flame in her hand before flattening it out across her palms taking a deep breath "Alright it will only hurt for a second dad" she said placing her glowing hands directly on the bleeding stump. With in seconds the wound was cauterized and his bleeding had stopped the pain was immense but faded once the flames were no longer on the skin. The smell of burning flesh lingered, but he wouldn't bleed out. After fixing up his leg Shinta staid there on the side it wasn't her fight but she would step in if they needed help. That was until she felt that change in Shigaraki, the other one took over 'All for one' she thought to herself. As soon as she realized who it was she saw an attack go out going for deku. She then saw Bakugo hurry to protect him before she could even react she saw All for ones attack pierce through Bakugo and her anger began to rage. She refuses to lose those she holds dear.
