With the alliances established and her godfather Sirius by her side, Harriet knew it was time to delve deeper into her heritage. The alliances she had formed were strong, but she needed to understand the power behind her family name. After all, the Potters were one of the oldest and most respected wizarding families, and Harriet was determined to uncover everything she could about her ancestors. If she was going to be a leader, she needed to harness every resource available, including the secrets her family might have left behind.

---

One morning, after having breakfast with Sirius while discussing their upcoming plans, Harriet decided it was time to explore the Potter ancestral vault. She had already been to her trust vault, where she had gathered money and a few essential artifacts, but she suspected the ancestral vault would hold more significant secrets.

"Sirius" she said, as they finished the meal, "I'm heading to the Potter ancestral vault today. There are some things there I need to find."

He looked at her with a mixture of curiosity and concern. "Are you certain you want to do that alone? The ancestral vaults can be tricky—sometimes, they're protected with old, powerful magic."

"I'm prepared for it," she replied confidently. "And besides, the goblins at Gringotts have been helpful so far. I think they'll respect me as the Potter heiress and guide me through the whole process."

Sirius nodded. "Just be cautious, Harriet. Old vaults hold powerful relics, and sometimes they hold more than just gold."

Harriet gave him a determined smile. "I know. But I'm not just after treasures; I'm after knowledge. There are answers in that vault that could help us."

---

Arriving at Gringotts, Harriet was greeted by Griphook, the goblin who had initially helped her during her first visit. "Heiress Potter," he greeted with a respectful nod. "We have prepared the way for you. The Potter ancestral vault is a powerful one; it has not been accessed since your parents' passing."

Harriet felt a mixture of excitement and anticipation. "Thank you, Griphook. I'm ready."

She was led down a series of winding tunnels, deep into the ancient underbelly of the bank. The walls grew colder and the air heavier as they descended, and Harriet felt the thrumming power of the wards guarding the vault. When they finally stopped, they stood before a massive iron door, engraved with the Potter crest—two intertwined snakes surrounding a phoenix and an ancient wand.

Griphook gestured for her to step forward. "You must place your hand upon the seal, Heiress Potter. The vault will recognize you by blood."

Harriet took a deep breath, placing her hand on the door. She felt a sharp, brief pain as the vault took a sample of her blood. Then, with a loud rumbling, the door slowly opened, revealing the secrets inside.

---

The vault was vast, with towering shelves filled with ancient tomes, artifacts, and chests overflowing with gold and jewels. But Harriet's attention was immediately drawn to the back of the room, where a large pedestal held a thick, leather-bound book. Above it, an enchanted quill floated, writing in mid-air. The cover of the book read: The Legacy of the Potters.

Curious, she stepped closer, and the quill paused in its writing. The book opened to a blank page, and words began to form:

Welcome, Heiress Harriet Potter. You seek the knowledge and power of your ancestors. What you find here is yours by right of blood.

Harriet's heart raced as she read. She began flipping through the pages, absorbing the information about her family's history and the magical knowledge passed down through generations. The Potters had been known not only as powerful wizards but also as scholars of ancient and arcane magic. They had long been protectors of magical artifacts and knowledge, many of which were stored in this very vault.

Harriet spotted a section titled Ancient Wards and Blood Magic. As she kept reading, she discovered a powerful spell her ancestors had used to protect their estate during the darkest of times. It was a ward so strong that it could repel any intruder—something that would prove invaluable if they needed a sanctuary away from Dumbledore's reach.

But the most intriguing discovery was a small chest at the bottom of the vault. It was adorned with protective runes and sealed with the Potter crest. Harriet carefully opened it, revealing a set of old journals—her parents' journals.

She picked one up and flipped through it, her breath catching as she read her father's handwriting. It was filled with research notes, spells, and observations about the political state of the wizarding world during Voldemort's rise. She could feel the love and dedication her father had poured into his work.

The second journal belonged to her mother. Harriet's eyes softened as she read Lily Potter's thoughts, discoveries, and even a few inventions in the field of potions and magical theory. But what struck her most was the entry dated only weeks before her parents' deaths:

"James and I are worried about Dumbledore. He insists we go into hiding with the Fidelius Charm, but something feels off. Why does he seem so intent on keeping our location secret, even from the people we trust most? I fear there's more to this than he's telling us."

Harriet's hands tightened around the journal. Even her mother had sensed Dumbledore's manipulations. The pieces of the puzzle were coming together. She closed the journal and gathered her findings, determined to learn everything she could from the knowledge her family had left behind.

---

Returning to the main hall of Gringotts, Harriet approached Griphook once more. "I need to access the Potter accounts," she said. "I have plans that require funding."

The goblin nodded, and they made their way to the financial records. Harriet took out a substantial sum, ensuring she had enough to fund her future studies and secure her plans. She also gathered a few artifacts—an enchanted mirror for communication and a protective amulet—and carefully placed them in her bag.

With her newly gained wealth and knowledge, she headed straight for Diagon Alley, her mind already set on the next step: preparing for the role she would play in the wizarding world.

---

At Flourish and Blotts, Harriet purchased even more books on pureblood etiquette, wizarding law and ancient magical traditions. If she was going to hold her own in the pureblood circles, she needed to know the rules, customs, and strategies that would allow her to navigate that world flawlessly. She also gathered texts on magical theory, potions, and advanced spellwork, determined to excel in every subject when she finally arrived at Hogwarts.

With a stack of books floating beside her, she made her way to Twilfitt and Tattings, a high-end clothing store for the wizarding elite. Harriet understood the importance of appearances—pureblood society valued presentation, and she intended to live up to her status as a Potter and heiress to powerful titles.

Inside the store, she was greeted by a witch with a polite smile. "Welcome, Heiress Potter. We have been informed of your arrival. Please, follow me."

Harriet was led to a private fitting room, where the seamstress showed her various robes and gowns. "These robes are enchanted for durability and comfort. They also carry protective charms, suitable for someone of your status."

As the seamstress measured her, Harriet requested styles that were elegant yet practical—robes that she could wear for formal events and ones she could move comfortably in for everyday use. She chose robes in shades of green, blue, and silver, reflecting her heritage and her alliance with the Black and Malfoy families.

After several hours, Harriet left the shop with an entirely new wardrobe—one befitting her role as a pureblood heiress and the future leader she was becoming.

---

Later that night, back at Black Manor, Harriet sat in her room, surrounded by her books and her parents' journals. She was ready to begin her studies formally. She had gathered knowledge, built alliances, and now had the tools to learn and keep growing. She would become more than just the Girl Who Lived—she would be a force to be reckoned with.

Flipping open a book on ancient blood wards, she whispered to herself, "This time, I will be prepared for everything."
