Lifting my eyelids slowly, the air around me was very dusty. Scanning the area, I noticed Salo's legs crushed under a pile of rubble, and then I spotted Jayce and Mel tending to each other. Reaching out my arm and trying to scream out to my sister, but my voice wouldn't allow it. The first face that appeared in front of me, was....Ambessa...my mother. "Semona! Semona! Can you hear me?!" she shouted, shaking me at the same time. Her voice sounded distant even though she was right next to me. "Oh my goodness! You're bleeding!" she exclaimed . I didn't realise what she was talking about until I looked down at my stomach. The same area that had healed from when I was 12 years ago. Why does this always happen to me?! Mel also came running to my side. "Hold on, Semona! You're okay." she said to me, as they both helped me out of the rubble, whilst I held onto my bleeding wound. I was too weak to walk on my own so one of the Noxian soldiers carried me and placed me onto the chair. How did this happen? Why did this happen? I wondered to myself
For a few days, the wound started to slowly heal, as I also slowly thought over and over again why the council building and so many people, including Caitlyn's mom....died. "I can't believe she's gone" I replied to Mel, as she dressed herself to get ready for the funeral. "I know." was all she could say.
Time stood still at the funeral as Caitlyn dropped purple flowers into her mother's casket. Tears were shed, with a few from myself, as the Enforcers lifted the casket to the burial site . Caitlyn's father was so distraught, which was hard for me to look at. After the funeral was over, we all headed back to the council. "She was a great woman." Mel replied, putting a hand on her shoulder. I slowly made my way to Caitlyn, pulling her in for a tight hug, but no tears were shed from her, noticing that she was trying to remain strong. "I'm here Caitlyn..I'm here" I spoke to her, as she returned the tight hug back. "I don't know how we'll face this crisis without her" Mel continued. "I'm going to head back with Caitlyn to her place, if that's ok with you". I asked her, as Caitlyn nodded. "Be safe, both of you.
Back at Caitlyn's house, I helped go through some letters, as we both heard footsteps approaching...Caitlyn's father. "Hi, Mr Kiraman. I'm so sorry for your loss" I replied, placing my hand on his hand, as he gave me a small, yet sorrowful smile. "I had the shot" Caitlyn replied, as both myself and Mr Kiramman looked at her. "Your mother left this to you" he replied, placing what looked like a key in her hand. "The Kiramman Key? No I'm not..I don't deserve it" she replied, as her father put his hand on her shoulder. "It's your legacy now, Caitlyn". We all gave each other a hopeful look, until Mr Kiramman, spoke, his tone filled with hate and rage. "What is she still doing here?" he asked, as both myself and Caitlyn looked towards the door to see Vi.
As Caitlyn went outside to speak to her, I continued to console Mr Kiramman. "If there's anything I can do to help both you and Caitlyn, please do let me know." I said, with Mr Kiramman giving me the same smile but yet it was hopeful too. "Thank you Semona. You've been too kind to me, Caitlyn....and my late wife. You and my daughter have been close friends since she was 10 and you was 7. All I ask, is that you continue to look out for her during this tough time" he replied. "Of course Mr Kiramman, you have my word". As I slowly walked back, the thought of Ekko came to mind, the last words that we spoke. I feel bad for not returning to him after the incident and wondered if he was still thinking of me...but I also need to support my sister since my mother is now taking the reigns.
The sound of a fanfare shook me out of my thoughts as I quickly speed walked to head the eulogy. After I was searched and reminded the Enforcers that I was Mel's sister, they allowed me inside and I headed straight up to Mel. "How did it go with Mr Kiramman" she asked me. "He's...coping. Good luck up there" I replied, giving my sister a small hug before spotting Vi standing next to a man in the crowd. "Hey Vi, it's good to see you" I replied, as she smiled. "It's good to see you too." "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Loris" the man spoke. "Nice to meet you Loris. Are you one of the new Enforcers?" I asked him. "IIIIII am" he slurred, clearly realising he had been drinking. Then Mel spoke as everyone fell silent:
