third person's pov

Whitney is slightly more conscious than she was yesterday, luckily by god's grace, she isn't in that much pain as she was yesterday. So, that is a good thing. Yes, she still is in pain, but it is more tolerable, she also managed to break free of the bondage that the Wendigo had wrapped around her arms to prevent her from escaping. She managed to escape sometime last night, but her head still hurts more than anything, and there will probably be a mark from the Wendigo grabbing her on the scruff of her neck, while she was in her wolf form.

Her senses have been skyrocketing so much that it is also one of the reasons why her head still hurts. What no one realized was that last night there was a full moon, and Whitney shifted into her wolf form, which wasn't overly terrible when it happened. She is guessing that she will probably shift into her wolf form when it is a full moon, or something.

She doesn't have any control of it, so she doesn't know when she will randomly shift, she also doesn't know how often it will happen either. Will it be an everyday occurrence? Or once in a while, thing? She doesn't know. It was somewhat cool, as her hearing senses were soaring high in the sky. It felt cool to literally hear everything happening around you, that is more enhanced than a human's hearing. She has to admit, that part was cool, but everything else was a bit freaky.

Her stomach has also been going crazy, she tried going on her first hunt last night of hunting for food. But that didn't go good at all. The bird got away, before she even got close to it. So, she literally went all night without dinner. She knows that her father and uncle will do whatever it takes to find her, so she has put that on the back burner in her head. She is just doing everything in her power just to survive and not get killed. That is a lot easier said than done. That's for sure. She knows that she will have to practice more now with her wolf shifting abilities, also practice not wanting anyone knowing about it. Which will be a lot easier said than done.

She mainly just doesn't want her dad to know. Sammy, she's fine, but she also doesn't want him to turn around and tell her dad at the same time. Because that is what he will do. It is a cool thing, that she can shift into a wolf, but also the scariest thing that has ever happened to her, outside of her mother dying (that was childhood trauma itself), but turning into a wolf will probably top that list.

at the campsite

"Hey." Sam greets Haley and Ben. "So, we've got half a chance in the daylight. And I for one want to kill this evil bastard."

"Well, hell, you know I'm in." Dean says.

Sam shows them John's journal which had the Wendigo. "Wendigo, is a Cree Indian word. It means 'evil that devours." Sam informs.

"Which isn't wrong, given the fact what this thing is." Dean adds, which earned a nod from his brother.

"They're hundreds of years old. Each one was once a man. Sometimes an Indian, or other times a frontiersman or a miner or hunter." Dean says.

"How's a man turn into one of those things?" Haley asked.

"Well, it's always the same way. During some harsh winter a guy finds himself starving, cut off from supplies or help. Becomes a cannibal to survive, eating other members of his tribe or camp." Dean says.
