Ascension

Overview

I thought I would give a quick overview to the different classes of Angels in Ascension. 

First are the basic class of Angels that are the main population of Heaven. They are either born into this position in Heaven, or can Ascend to this title from Earth so long as they have been able to leave the Firmament.  

They do all the basic tasks and jobs of heaven, while focusing on their education, prayer and moving into a higher class of Angel.  Their desired class will mirror the education, and even some of the jobs they do to try and move into that middle class. They wear plain white robes.

Next in line is the Middle class Angels.

Virtues: This is Ayira's class. Virtues are talented teachers, they will educate the sheep of Earth, and the Brothers and Sisters of the Firmament. Some become educators for the Angels in Heaven, and the most devout focus the majority of their time to prayer, and purity in anticipation to ascend to becoming the Seraphim. 

They are the only class that can become Seraphim, how ever very rare that may happen.

They wear their sashes of orange.

Powers: This is Lael's class. They are front line defense warriors, guards, peace keepers. They focus on different tactics of strength and defense, and have been known to also be the angels that tend to become those who practice medicine.

 If they focus themselves fully to a mix of prayer and intense training, they are the class that Ascend to becoming Thrones. 

They are awarded a sash of Green.

Principalities: They are the ones who know the most likely to Ascend from one position to the next, with the most 'laid back' of life styles in heaven. They are known for their dancing and their singing. They follow Virtues on their trips to Earth and the Firmament to watch those in lecture, and will give extra guidance on a more spiritual less educational level. They also play witness to any forms of judge and jury and are seen to accompany Dominoes on many tasks. 

They are the only class known not to ever Ascend, being content in their role.

They wear Sashes of gold.

Dominoes: 

They govern and ensure the rules of Heaven, Firmament and Earth. When pertaining to Earth, they are known to ensure which divisions of Sheep have good crop, are to rule, fail, and succeed in tasks. They overlook trials for laws and rules broken, and will represent any party as for they are the most candor in their actions.  They are the ones who will punish the Sheep of Earth if wrongs have been discovered. Are equivalent to lawyers and judges. 

 They also assist in any hearings for those of the Firmament, and Heaven along with the Cherubim.

When ascending, they become Cherubim.

The sash they wear is purple.

Upper class:

Seraphim: The ultimate Angels said to be closest to God. They are what pass laws, rules, and schedules in Heaven, guiding Angels of all areas. They are never seen in Heaven, but on occasion are present in The Church on digital screens, either or serious allegations, Ascensions, or passings of new laws. Being the most pure and closest to God, they are said to be unnervingly beautiful, perfect looking, and the 'truest Angels'. It is the rarest level of Ascension one can obtain.

Cherubim:  They are the ones who pass judgement in Heaven, and ensure fair hearings. They also are the ones who ensure movement of goods, energy distribution, and overall wealth. They only are seen in Heaven if there has been an offense from Angels, and will be detectives in crime. They also observe Angels trying to ascend if they are doing particular tests or exams as a sort of proctor to ensure fairness and honesty. 

They wear robes of black, which have hoods that they wear when delivering judgement, passing laws, and witnessing punishments.

Thrones: They are elite protectors, special forces of warriors that protect Heaven. They will roll out punishments to Angels who have broken laws that have been judged guilty, ensure that none leave Heaven or Earth without authorization, and if ever need be are ready to head into battle as highly trained warriors in various methods of battle and strategy. 

They wear robes of pure crimson, with red masks that cover their faces when dealing punishment or fighting. 

Below all these levels of Angels in Heaven is the mid point- The Firmament. A Sphere divided into 2 sides- one side that holds the devout Brothers, the other side the devout Sisters.  It is made up all of grey, all buildings undecorated single level windowless and doorless, aside from the house of The Chariot which is round, made of  glass and grey stone, and The Abby which is the place of prayer standing high, still all in grey. 

The only tasks for the Brothers and the Sisters is to give intense prayer every day, attend lecture whenever the Angels descend to lecture and guide, and work in production lines. There are Mothers and Fathers that bear witness to the Brothers and Sisters and are there to guide the others in every day life.

Below the Firmament is Earth.

On Earth, people are known as Sheep. They live in poorly communities for the most part, aside from those who are known for leadership or nobility.  The Sheep live in the proffered communities provided by the Angels, certian death following those who go outside the safety of the Angel built communities. 

And lastly, which will not be seen in Ascension but in it's sequel 'The Descent', but I don't mind giving a slight spoiler to- there is Hell.
