I didn't understand what I was doing. One moment, I was relishing in the ecstasy of freeing urine out of my bladder, and the other, I find myself shaking a boy's shoulder, trying to wake him up from his bloody slumber after he got pummeled by someone.
Yes, I got back. I couldn't turn my back on him. The guy was heavily injured and it broke my heart, even though I was scared shtikless.
I didn't know what I was doing, but I thought I could do something at least.
The boy didn't seem to want to wake up anytime soon. I felt even more sad to to see him so utterly disheveled that his face was unrecognizable, not that I knew how his face looked before, but still. I couldn't help but note that he looked like a mashed banana that somebody stepped on. It was a little funny, if it weren't for the nauseating blood spurting out of him.
I took out a handkerchief and started blotting his wounds gently. He stirrer, and finally opened his eyes slowly. He had one swollen eye, so he couldn't see through it completely.
"Ugh..." he groaned. "Where... am I?"
"You're at school. You're still at school!" I said anxiously, patting his shoulder. "Are you okay? Can you get up?"
He reported, "of course I can't, idiot."
I sighed. "Okay, okay, please don't yell. Somebody will hear you."
He struggled to sit up and I helped him rest his head against the wall. "Nobody will... this place is always empty anyways..."
"Why?"
He sneered, and gave me a mocking look. "Why? Why, you dunno?"
I shook my head.
"You new here?"
I nodded.
I flinched when he burst out laughing, but quickly clapped a handkerchief over his mouth when he drooled blood right after.
"Okay, okay, stop laughing. You'll get hurt even more!" I wiped his mouth.
He smacked my hand away lightly. "No need. Just stop your scolding."
I sighed, then started standing up. "We should go to the nurse's office. Now."
"Ey ey ey ey, hold on, sport!" He waved his hand at me to sit back down. "No need, I'll take care of myself."
"But look at yourself! You look like mashed potato!"
He coughed a laugh. "Look who's talking!"
I huffed. "Look, just let us go there and I promise I won't tell anybody."
"Nah, don'worry 'bout it, sport," he chuckled, his speech slurred, (I reckoned he lost a tooth), and he rested a hand on the wall and attempted to stand up.
