The studio was cloaked in an eerie stillness late at night, a stark contrast to the chaos it brimmed with earlier in the day. Gemini sat alone at the editing station, the glow of the monitor highlighting the sharp lines of his face. He scanned through the photos with clinical precision, but his focus was slipping.
Image after image displayed Fourth, his confident smirk and piercing eyes practically burning through the screen. Gemini couldn't escape it—the maddening magnetism the younger man exuded.
"Why him?"
Gemini muttered to himself, dragging a hand through his already messy hair.
The sound of the studio door opening startled him. His head whipped around to see Fourth strolling in, his leather jacket slung over one shoulder, a sly grin tugging at his lips.
"Do you ever go home?"
Fourth teased, closing the door behind him.
"What are you doing here?"
Gemini's voice was sharp, his annoyance barely masked.
"Forgot my charger,"
Fourth replied, holding up the cable he had retrieved from a side table.
"Didn't think I'd catch you burning the midnight oil."
"I work late,"
Gemini said curtly, turning back to his screen in an effort to ignore the younger man's presence.
Fourth leaned casually against the desk, his dark eyes fixed on Gemini."You should try sleeping once in a while. Might make you less uptight."
Gemini's jaw clenched, his patience wearing thin.
"I don't need advice from someone who barely shows up on time."
Fourth chuckled, the sound low and teasing.
"You really love being in control, don't you, P'Gem?"
"Stop calling me that,"
Gemini snapped, finally meeting Fourth's gaze.
"Why?"
Fourth asked, his grin widening.
"It bothers you because it's personal? Or because you don't want to admit you like it when I push your buttons?"
"Enough,"
Gemini said, standing abruptly.
"Go home, Fourth. I have work to do."
But Fourth didn't move. Instead, he took a step closer, the playful smirk on his lips softening into something more serious.
"You're always so guarded,"
Fourth said quietly.
"Why is that?"
Gemini hesitated, caught off guard by the shift in Fourth's tone.
"I'm not guarded. I'm professional. Something you clearly have trouble understanding."
"Professional,"
Fourth repeated, his voice laced with irony.
"Is that what you tell yourself every time you look at me like that?"
Gemini stiffened.
"Look at you like what?"
"Like you want me,"
