Echoes of the Past

The night was humid, the air thick with the sound of distant city traffic and the occasional laugh spilling from nearby diners. Gemini, Fourth, and Winny strolled down a dimly lit street, heading toward a local bar—a casual place where they could unwind. The past week had been full of work, stress, and distractions, and this night was supposed to be a break from it all.

"Hey, I invited someone tonight,"

Winny said casually, glancing over at Gemini.

"A guy I met at the backstage crew. His name's Satang. I thought we could all hang out."

Gemini raised an eyebrow.

"You know him well enough to invite him out?"

Winny shrugged, a cheeky grin on his face.

"Yeah, we hit it off. Besides, he's been helping out backstage a lot. You've probably seen him around."

"I don't mind,"

Gemini said, his voice more neutral. He had met many people in his line of work, but he couldn't say he had gotten close to many of them. He trusted Winny's judgment, so he let it go.

As they entered the bar, Gemini noticed the soft hum of conversation and the dim lights that cast long shadows over the intimate space. The quiet chatter and clinking of glasses created a laid-back atmosphere. Fourth, ever the brooding figure, seemed a little detached tonight. His eyes were distant, his posture more rigid than usual. Gemini glanced at him but decided not to comment.

Winny, ever the life of the party, immediately waved his hand and motioned toward a corner booth, calling over to Satang, who had just walked in. Satang made his way toward them, his easy confidence immediately making an impression. His sleek black hair fell messily around his face, and his gaze was sharp yet relaxed. He had that kind of effortless charm that made people want to know him.

"Hey!"

Winny greeted, waving him over with an exaggerated gesture.

"Glad you could make it!"

"Wouldn't miss it,"

Satang replied, sliding into the booth next to Winny with a friendly smile.

"You all seem pretty chill."

Gemini gave him a polite nod.

"Thanks for all the help backstage. You've been a big help."

Satang's smile widened, though his eyes seemed to linger a bit too long on Winny.

"No problem. I've been around. Glad to be of use."

His voice was casual, but there was an undercurrent of something unspoken.

Gemini wasn't sure how to feel about the way Winny and Satang interacted. They seemed comfortable, too comfortable, in a way that made Gemini feel like there was something more between them. But he didn't want to overthink it.

"So,"

Winny said, attempting to break the silence,

"let's get some drinks, yeah?"

Before anyone could respond, the door to the bar opened with a loud jingle, and Phuwin walked in. Gemini didn't think much of it at first—he was just another face in the crowd. But the instant Fourth caught sight of him, everything changed. Fourth's demeanor stiffened, his jaw tightening slightly, and for a moment, the world seemed to still.

Phuwin's gaze immediately locked onto Fourth, and a quiet tension enveloped the room. Gemini watched closely but couldn't quite understand why Fourth's reaction was so intense. It was as if the air itself shifted when Phuwin stepped into view.
