Philip's POV
Annika had decided to stay the night with me in my room, seeing my current state of despair on what my sister had to go through. With my emotions all over the place, she wanted to be there with me. I couldn't say no to her, not now, not ever. I couldn't put into words how much I appreciated her actions - they spoke louder than all the words anyone could express love with.
The following day, after an early breakfast with William, I went to check on my sister. I knew she won't be in her room and probably in Aditya's. I went down the hallway to his room and knocked at his door. After a minute of silence, I heard the padding of footsteps and the doorknob twisted, revealing Aditya, still in his half-asleep senses. The sleepiness from his eyes vanished when he realised it was me at his door, this early in the morning.
"How is Amaia?" I asked. He looked back at his bed. There she laid, still asleep, hugging a pillow tight.
"Is she okay.." I asked.
"She is now, just asleep" he answered. I nodded.
"Could you just let me know when she wakes up?" I asked and he nodded.
"Thank you for finding her and saving her yesterday" I said sincerely.
"It's okay" he said, with an understanding undertone clear in his voice. I patted his shoulder.
"Thanks a lot for all your help Aditya" I said, to which he gave me a small smile.
"See you around then!" I said, leaving for my room. Then my head was preoccupied thinking about my sister. A shuffling noise was the sound that snapped me out of my thoughts. Annika shifted around in my bed. Her antics when she was about to wake up was cute. I smiled softly, unknowing to myself. There she laid, bringing a smile to my face even with just her subconscious movements.
Then I sat on my table and opened the curtains, letting some light flood into the dimly lit room and lit a candle on my table, as I started to write the report, addressing it to the Crown, my last report to them.
Even though everything I wrote in the report was false news, somehow it felt right, like I was indeed doing the right thing in life. Finally, I had to describe the situations here in Rajasthan that acted as an obstacle in our path - no, in that path of the Crown to take over its riches and resources. It was simply not my plan anymore.
I wrote how our plans got exposed in the last moment and how the royals have sealed down the company and nullified the contact we had with them all at once and how they indeed had the law on their side with their status as royals and how the labourers had gone into a protest in front of the company.
Well, that didn't actually happen, but they need to take a step back, if the people were to be protected from our business here. Then they won't try to waste their resources and men here again, so the royals here didn't have to face a Phase Two impact. I was finally done with the report after a short while. I needed to copy it again for the king - he was the one who needed another copy as proof.
When I turned back to the bed, I could see that Annika had woken up and was sitting on the bed, rubbing her eyes with a sleepy look, to which I chuckled.
"Good morning sunshine!" I said with a tease, to which she groaned. I knew for a fact that she hated the mornings. She got up, her nightgown falling right below her knees. She walked over to me and swatted my shoulder. I winced playfully, to which she rolled her eyes.
"Aww! Look at you, early in the morning! Such an adorable sight, my dear!" I said. She sat on my lap. I wrapped my arms around her waist, holding her up and making sure she didn't fall off. I chuckled.
