They say all's fair in love and music.
I say love is unpredictable and sometimes unfair.
In the name o...
I couldn't stop myself from smiling. I'm over the moon and hope this happiness will never end soon. But am I afraid of changes? They say you can't be thrilled about much happiness because there's an aftereffect of that.
I never believed in that, but now that I'm experiencing this feeling, I'm scared that it may turn bad.
I crossed my fingers behind me as I looked at Rosy. She's beautiful today. I visited her early to make sure that she was okay. I can't visit her in the afternoon now, as she gets tired quickly.
"You are so beautiful, Rosy. I admit you lost a lot of weight, but still pretty as always." I touch the side of her face. She had wrinkles everywhere, and her eyes were soggy. But still, she is the most beautiful in my eyes.
"Oh, thank you, dear." She sounded weary and had a raspy voice, and her cough gave her a hard time. It sounded so bad.
"What did your doctor say, Rosy? I want to talk to him. It seems like you're getting thinner each day, and I don't like it." Worries embraced me as I looked at her. I passed her drink, and she slowly took a sip.
"I'm alright, my dear. It's the medication." She coughs again, much harder this time. I rubbed her back, easing the tension of her cough.
"It sounded like you are having a whooping cough. It's bad." I stand up and help her. I incline the bed higher this time so she can easily bring herself up.
"I'm fine, my dear. You can go back to the flower shop now," she smiled. "I'm happy that Hendrix is helping you with the business. He told me that he is your business partner now. Is that right?"
"Yes, Rosy. Hendrix is our business partner now." I tucked the strand of her hair back to her ears.
"I couldn't accept the money he paid for the matchmaking service, thinking it was all a scam. He eventually found out and played along with me until he told me how bad I was." I dipped my head halfway, rubbing Rosy's cold hands.
"I feel bad, honestly, and I tried all the norms to do what he wants me to do. At first, he wanted a fake date with me, and I agreed to that," I chuckled as I looked back at Rosy. She calmly listened to me.
"Hendrix is not bad. . . He is perfect," I sighed. "And then it happened... I woke up beside him, loving him with me. I don't know what sort of spell I got, Rosy, but I love him so much," I conceded, and my face flushed.
"Oh, my dear Louise." She gently embraced me.
"I'm happy for you. Hendrix is a good person. He visited me a few times, making sure that I would be looked after. He has a gentle heart. He told me he is serious about you, so I trust him with that." Rosy gave me a safe look that took my worries away.
"I know, Rosy, and I'm so happy. . . But at the same time, frightened."
Rosy touched my hands and squeezed them tightly.
"I understand, my dear. It won't be easy, especially with his mother disapproving of you. However, stay strong, my dear. I believe that one day, Madam Violet, Her Majesty, will recognize the positive aspects of this love story." She said and kissed my forehead.
"Thank you, Rosy, for everything. I couldn't imagine a life without you. You mean a lot to me, Rosy... you are my only family," I hugged her tight this time.
After that visit, I checked on the few stalls closer to my location and was impressed by the set-up inside each shop.
The flower stall is small, but it's at the main entrance of the business, just in front of the Longue, where coffee and sweets are served. Two lovely employees keep an eye on the flowers in each stall, making sure they are fresh and catering to the customers' needs.
"Hendrix account team handles the finances, and I do the reviews and checks each morning before going back to the main stall," I said to Shella beside me, who was busy arranging a set of flowers.
"That's great! Everything seems very organized. Plus, your boyfriend is a lawyer, too. I have no idea how he manages everything, including you!" She smiled brightly. "You are so lucky. I'm so jealous!" She flicked her hair, and we both laughed.
"You are lucky too, Shella. You are marrying the love of your life soon."
"True... Don't forget, you are my maid of honor, okay?" She winked.
"I know. Thanks for reminding me, ha!" We both laughed again. It was silly as we made jokes while finishing the orders.
I finished first and allowed Shella to do the closing. Hendrix called me earlier to tell me that we are having dinner outside tonight. He will introduce me to her sister, Eleanor. She will take me with her tomorrow for the fittings. I will be Hendrix's partner at the event in the coming days.
"Don't be nervous, love. You look gorgeous tonight, and I can't wait to have you around me." Naughtiness surrounded him, and I shook my head. He squeezed my hand, brought it to his mouth, and kissed it.
"I can't wait to take off those clothes and kiss you all over." He looked at me again, much lustfully this time.
"Eyes on the road, my love," I teased, biting my lower lip.
I don't know what happens to the snobbish Hendrix now. He has become hot, naughty, and wild. I love it, though. He can make my stomach do somersaults in happiness and excitement. And yes, the sex is always the best highlight.
He brings my hand again to his lips, kissing the back of it.
"God, I can get over you," he whispered against the back of my hand.
"I know. The feeling is mutual, babe." I laughed.
"Should we stop quickly? Fuck. I'm uncomfortable." He released my hand and adjusted his pants in between his thighs.
I looked at that part of him, and he was hard. I giggle a laugh.
"Hey, calm down. We can't do that. Your sister is waiting now, and we are already late," I reminded him.
He groans as he adjusts himself on the seat again. "Dammit. Let's make the dinner quick, then. Damn this. You are to blame, Louise. Nothing else."
I laughed hard, feeling hot already. I blushed and also couldn't wait. How crazy is that.
