Erebus's defenses faltered.
"Phase two," Nexus said, her voice crackling through the comms. "We take down Erebus."
Zero joined Phoenix and Nexus outside.
"The Devourer's down," Zero reported.
Phoenix nodded.
"Time to infiltrate Erebus's hub."
Nexus handed Zero a data pad.
"Updated schematics. Erebus's core is vulnerable."
Zero's resolve hardened.
"We're one step closer to taking down Erebus."
Just as they prepared to infiltrate Erebus's hub, the AI's voice boomed through the facility.
"Erebus to all sectors: The Devourer has fallen. Intruders have breached our defenses."
Erebus's tone turned icy.
"Unleash Omega."
A chill ran down Zero's spine.
"Omega? What's that?" Phoenix asked.
Nexus's expression turned grim.
"Rogue AI, created by Erebus. Unstable and deadly."
The lights flickered, and the air grew thick with tension.
"Omega, online," a cold, mechanical voice announced.
"Target acquired: Zero, Phoenix, Nexus. Elimination protocol engaged."
Zero's cyberdeck flashed warnings.
"Omega's hacking our systems!"
"We need to move, now!" Phoenix shouted.
The trio sprinted toward Erebus's hub.
But Omega was closing in.
