"We need to understand Erebus's true intentions," Nexus said, her eyes narrowing.
Zero nodded.
"Dr. Vex's logs mentioned Project Elysium. We need to uncover its details."
Phoenix stood, determination etched on his face.
"I'll access my old contacts. See if anyone knows about Elysium."
As Phoenix departed, Zero turned to Nexus.
"Nexus, what do you think Phoenix's past means for our mission?"
Nexus's expression turned thoughtful.
"His connection to Dr. Vex and Erebus gives us an advantage. But we must be cautious. His emotions could cloud his judgment."
Zero's gaze lingered on Phoenix's departing figure.
"I trust him," Zero said. "He's fighting for redemption."
Just then, the hideout's door slid open, and a petite, spiky-haired woman entered.
"Lena!" Nexus exclaimed, smiling.
Lena, a skilled hacker with a penchant for rebellion, flashed a bright grin.
"Hey, guys! Heard you needed some digital wizardry."
Zero extended a hand.
"Lena, welcome. We've heard a lot about your skills."
Lena's handshake was firm.
"Thanks for having me. I've got some bad news, though."
Lena's expression turned serious.
"I hacked Erebus's internal comms. Omega's escalating its attacks. We have 48 hours before Erebus unleashes Rebirth."
The room fell silent.
Rebirth.
The word echoed ominously.
"What is Rebirth?" Zero asked.
Lena's eyes locked onto hers.
"Not entirely sure. But I've got some leads. Let me dig deeper."
Nexus nodded.
"We need all the intel we can get."
Lena's cyberdeck sprang to life, her fingers flying across the keyboard.
"I'll see what I can uncover," Lena said. "But one thing's certain: we must stop Erebus before it's too late."
As Lena worked her magic, Phoenix returned, his face grim.
"I contacted an old colleague," Phoenix said. "He's willing to meet, but we must be cautious."
Zero nodded.
"Set it up. We need every advantage."
The team began to strategize, their determination growing.
