"Heeseung, wake up," he hears in his ear as he slowly opens his eyes, immediately flinching when he is met with Sunghoon's gorgeous face right in front of him. He stares at him for a moment, and gulps when Sunghoon raises his eyebrow.
"Huh? How did we get here so fast?"
Sunghoon laughs.
"C'mon, you little snoozer." Heeseung blushes at the nickname, reluctantly getting out of the car with the help of Sunghoon pulling his arm.
By the time they had reached Sunghoon's house, Heeseung couldn't stop sneezing, his sickness clearly getting worse. Sunghoon being Sunghoon, noticed, and genuinely started getting even more concerned.
"Are you okay?" he asks, and Heeseung shakes his head in response.
"I don't feel too well..."
Sunghoon rubs his back comfortingly, causing Heeseung to still, shocked at the sudden touch that was giving him even more goosebumps than he already had.
"It's okay, we're here. Let's go inside before you start feeling worse," he softly says, trying to not be too loud so that he wouldn't hurt Heeseung's ears after just waking up.
As they enter the house, Heeseung immediately freezes when Sunghoon's mom comes running up to them. They were all very close, and have been for the longest time, but Heeseung could never get used to how much energy Sunghoon's mother had.
"Heeseung! Oh my gosh!" she slightly yells, opening her arms and grabbing Heeseung into a big, warm, tight hug. Heeseung awkwardly pats her back in return, rolling his eyes at Sunghoon, who was currently laughing at him. After almost killing Heeseung, she immediately turns to her son, pointing her index finger at him and lecturing him. "Sunghoon, you fool, why haven't you been inviting Heeseung over as much as you used to?!"
He rubs the back of his neck, giggling awkwardly. Heeseung hated himself for finding Sunghoon cute.
"Ah, Heeseung's been really busy. I only just got to hang out with him today, since we planned ahead of time we would go to the Christmas event," he explains, and his mom shakes her head in disapproval.
"Excuses excuses. Girlfriends and boyfriends hang out even if they're both busy, so what's the difference? You two should be hanging out just as often."
Both Heeseung and Sunghoon's faces turn bright red, the mood now being slightly awkward due to the unnecessarily weird comment his mom made.
Sunghoon, really badly wanting to see Heeseung's reaction, glances over at him, but it was a stupid mistake because Heeseung was already looking at him. Heeseung's eyes felt as though they were piercing through him. Sunghoon quickly looks away, clearing his throat.
"Well...he's actually sick right now mom, so I would refrain from hugging him. I was going to tell you, but...you know, you just had to rush in before I could say anything. Like always," Sunghoon mentions, completely disregarding and ignoring his mother's previous words that did not need to have an affect on him as much as it did.
"Oh no, the baby is sick." She still manages to touch Heeseung's cheek, caressing his face. She did not care at all if Heeseung was sick, she still wanted to baby him. Sunghoon wasn't sure if the sudden jealousy he felt was towards Heeseung, or his mom. "Make sure you stay warm and drink a lot of tea. And Sunghoon, you better take care of him, or else I'll slap you."
Sunghoon sighs, not surprised at all that his mother loved Heeseung more than her own son at this point. He was a very lovable person, after all. Sunghoon knows that better than anyone.
