Jemma lay on the bed in her actual room where they allowed her to move after her shower. A knock at the door came and Daisy entered with a smile and a vase of yellow flowers.
"I cannot believe you're here" Daisy smiled, happy to see Jemma back in her room.
"Skye. Daisy. I'm sorry"
"It's a multipurpose gift. It's pretty and a reminder" She said referring to the vase which she handed over "You can call me whatever you want. I can't stay for too long, I'm tracking law enforcement channels, but I'm really sorry that I haven't come sooner. It's just a lot going on"
"And I've been sleeping" It wasn't exactly a lie she had slept a bit.
"Which is good. Do whatever you need to get better. We need you. And I-" Daisy took a seat on the edge of her bed "I know you don't want to talk about what happened yet, but when you do, I'm here, for whatever you need"
"Right now, I'd rather listen" She sat up further in bed "The Terrigen is spreading?"
"So is the paranoia" Daisy paused for a moment "You're really okay?"
"I think so. I'm...Well, it's just, there's some of it that's hard to talk about and I-" Daisy's phone buzzed, making Jemma jump and scoot further up the bed.
"I'm so sorry"
"No, take it" Jemma told her, offering a small smile as Daisy stood from the bed and answered her phone.

Jemma had taken a nap after Daisy left and decided on reading a book, hoping that it wouldn't overload her senses and that it would take her mind elsewhere. A knock sounded at the door and Fitz appeared with a small smile.
"Hey, can I come in?" She nodded eagerly, lying her book down on the bedside table as Fitz sat on the edge of her bed.
"Is everything okay?" She could feel the nerves radiating off of him, that hadn't changed thank God.
"Yes, I was just going to ask if you would like to have dinner...with me...alone. Somewhere nice"
"That sounds nice, Fitz" He couldn't hide his smile and Jemma didn't want him to.
"Tonight?" She nodded.
"I'll come by around seven, is that okay?" She nodded again.
"Okay then. I'll see you then" He smiled shyly, heading out of her room, closing the door behind him. Sweet, kind, Fitz.

The drive over to the restaurant was quiet, Fitz had turned down the radio so that it wouldn't hurt her ears. When they got there he opened the car door for her and took her hand, leading her inside the seemingly empty building.
"I thought it'd be good for you to get out somewhere nice. And quiet" He added as Jemma took in the empty dinning room.
"Where is everyone?"
"Well, I made sure you wouldn't have any distractions" He had listened to her. He knew how to take care of her.
"Mr Fitz, we're delighted to see you" Fitz dropped her hand "Your table is this way" The waiter led them through the restaurant and over to their table which was as perfect as the rest "The wine is a gift from us. Very persistent young man here. We've been holding this reservation for months" Fitz slipped off his jacket and hung it on the back of his chair "I'm delighted you're finally here"
"You kept the reservation"
"Don't make a fuss. It's not a big deal" Fitz pulled out her chair for her and Jemma slipped into it "I remember when you took me out after months in the hospital. It made me feel like a human being again" Jemma felt far from human.
"You complained the entire time"
"Well, okay, a crabby human being"
"I can't thank you enough"
"Yeah, it's a nice restaurant, isn't it?"
"Yeah, but for more than that. For finding me" He shrugged.
"What else was I going to do?" Jemma could feel the tension in the air. She could feel the heaviness of the room. She could feel Fitz's eyes on her and the absence of Will.
"I don't know what to say"
"You don't have to say anything"
"Have you decided on what you'll be having?" The waiter asked as he moved back to the table and poured them both a glass of wine.
"Oh gosh, so much to choose from" Jemma let her eyes scan the long menu that lay on the table in front of her.
"Maybe this will help" Fitz picked up his glass of wine. She could hear Will's voice in her head, promising her that bottle of wine, the memory of them drinking the awful tasting one.
"Shall I make a toast?" He met her eyes, finding them glossed over and looking at the glass in his hand "What?" He placed the glass back on the table "Please give us a minute"
"Of course" The waiter headed back off to the kitchen as Jemma's tears started to fall. Fitz stood from his seat and pulled up a chair beside her.
"I'm sorry" She sobbed, as his arm wrapped around her, holding her close to him. This was wrong. Fitz had tried to do something nice for her and instead she had ruined it. Fitz had saved her from the monolith and yet, all she wanted was to go back.
"I'm so sorry Fitz"

Bobbi finished her workout and headed back along the hall, spotting Jemma in the lab.
"Simmons?" Bobbi rounded the corner and saw the rock in Jemma's hands "Why are you looking at that?"
"Trying to understand"
"There's nothing to learn from this" Bobbi reached for a section of rock but Jemma snatched it away before she could reach it.
"It's possible it's not inert. Alien metals have different properties. We don't know for sure"
"Yes, we do. You are safe. That portal won't open again"
"But it has to. I have to go back"
