I stood there, twirling my hair. I had tried dying parts of it cotton candy pink. It looked stupid, like I was superficial or something. I waited for him to find me.
When he arrived, he was as breathless as always when he was around me, like my beauty sucked out all the air in his lungs.
It made me sick. The sight of him, seemed to make me sick. When I had broken up with him, I had learned that I was... no longer attracted to men. Like, at all.
I wanted to throw up, being so close to him. But I didn't want to hurt him. I would hope that we could remain friends, but even the smallest contact with him seemed to only bring him pain.
"Simon." I said. "I wanted to talk."
"Yeah?" He said, trying to catch his breath. Merlin, he looked like a helpless puppy. And I was about to metaphorically kick this adorable, helpless little puppy.
God help me. Help me find the strength to do this.
"Simon." I repeated, taking a breath. I needed to refill my own lungs; his gasping had made it seem necessary, like I wasn't getting enough myself. "You need to move on, buddy."
"H-huh?" He stuttered, eyes widening, suddenly confused. "What do you mean?"
"I see how you act, how you like." I replied. "Knock it off. You're acting stupid."
"What?" He repeated. "I... I'm not catching it."
I sighed. I rubbed my face with my hands. This was beginning to piss me off. "Of course not, you dense motherfucker. Even when I had put it in plain words, you didn't 'catch it'."
"I... Okay." Simon said, exhaling. "Jeez, I get the message. You don't need to curse at me."
"Good." I said, smiling and placing my hands on my hips. "That's all I wanted."
"Damn. There isn't anything else?" He said, his eyebrows furrowing.
"Nope." Then I thought about it. "Well... I'm going out with Penelope Bunce. Okay, byee." I left, giggling.
Simon
I blinked, watching as she left, feeling paralyzed. What the actual fuck just happen?
