Shivika's Pov:

10 days later ....

"Wake up, Shivii!" I heard Shivaay's voice, and when I opened my eyes, I saw him standing beside my bed, looking at me with helpless eyes.

"What the hell, Shivaay! Why are you here? Just let me sleep!" I grumbled, turning to the other side and closing my eyes again.

"I'll tell Mom that you were killing someone last night just because they yelled at your manager for you being late. I'm sure that will be enough for her to make you stay home until I recover and can get back to work," he said, his tone full of mischief.

I immediately sat up, my eyes wide. "What happened, dear brother? Why are you here, and how can I help you?" I said, deliberately putting on an overly polite tone.

"I need my phone back from Mom," he replied, pouting. "She took it away, saying it's the cause of all your problems. She's not letting me work until I'm completely recovered."

I couldn't help but laugh inwardly. I mean, seriously, this man was disturbing my beauty sleep for something so trivial. "Can't you just get another phone with the same number?" I asked, still feeling drowsy.

"Mom's warned everyone in the house to follow only her rules," he said. "No one's getting me a new one, and since she's the only 'mafia' in the house, no one wants to face her wrath. So, it's your responsibility to get me a phone within the hour, or you'll have to answer to her for 'killing someone in the middle of the night,'" he finished with a grin.

Has he lost his mind after surgery? I thought, but then I sighed and dialed my manager's number to get a new phone arranged within the hour, using the same number.

When I went to Shivaay's room to deliver the phone, I found him talking to Vihaan. They looked like old friends, chatting like they'd known each other for decades. I realized no one knew how I'd managed to have Vihaan over at my house every day through subtle threats, so they were treating him like a guest. Even the usually cold Shivaay was being friendly with him.

I handed the phone to Shivaay, but as I turned to leave, he stopped me. "Shivi, how did you manage to get Vihaan to come over every day? I know he doesn't do home visits, even for serious cases."

That's when I realized I'd made a mistake. I froze. "I just... asked him to come, so he did," I said, trying to act innocent.

Shivaay shot me a sharp, warning look. "As much as I know my sister, I know she wouldn't just 'ask' someone. What did you do?"

I sighed, admitting, "I may have... threatened him a little about his sister, who's out on a trip, and kept tabs on her." I wasn't surprised that Shivaay wasn't shocked-he knew his sister well.

"Shivi, at least you could've told me," Shivaay said, trying to be serious as he explained.
