Uh, warning I guess? Some description of corpses and gore later on :)
Wisp watches his reflection in the mirror for a moment, glancing down at the bottle of pills neatly placed by the sink in front of him. It wasn't uncommon for an insomniac to qualify for the special forces. You'd think the lack of sleep would be an issue, but most soldiers ended up with the disorder eventually after seeing the things they do. Wisp's wasn't a result of anything regarding his career though.
He sighs, studying his eye bags briefly before letting his gaze linger on the scar below his eye. Then he shifts his weight and changes into uniform, grabbing a few items he usually brought with him, including a trusty sniper rifle. Wisp worked on all of its customizations himself. This mission didn't require it of course, but he felt better with it at his side. He would bring a revolver as well.
Wisp glances over at the analog clock on the bathroom's left wall, making a mental note of the time. He was scheduled to meet up with his temporary comrade in about ten minutes. It was unusual for a sniper like himself to be working face to face with a partner, but according to headquarters, his skills and attributes suited the outing best.
Out in the hallway, gunshots can be heard coming from the shooting range. Wisp's combat boots thump lightly against the concrete floor despite his height, his demeanor alert. It had become a habit at this point, to be somewhat paranoid of his surroundings, no matter the situation. Perhaps it was picked up from the years of working out in the field, but Wisp had experienced many other things before this career, so it's impossible to know for sure.
"Hey, Warrens!" Somebody calls out, and Wisp unfortunately recognizes him. His stoic expression doesn't falter, but he mentally grimaces. He's well acquainted with the younger soldier. A dangerous man who loved using explosives out in the field at any opportunity. Wisp could only guess how the soldier had gotten the callsign Weasel. Headquarters hadn't mentioned who he would be working with specifically, probably because if he'd known it was Weasel, Wisp wouldn't be here right now. He hated working with the other man.
"Hey." Wisp greets back with a forced neutral expression. "We shouldn't waste any time with this one, let's get the rest of our gear." He gestures for Weasel to follow him as he begins to navigate to the armory.
Weasel nodded quickly, and started to talk as soon as the two were walking side by side. "I can't believe a whole training group went missing. There shouldn't be any human threats out there, they were on our training grounds after all. Think it was a bear?" He suggests.
"Maybe, maybe not." Wisp answers plainly.

Once the two were finished in the armory, they headed out and walked the trail that led throughout the forest just east of base. The ground is blanketed in snow, every step crunching under them. They're quick on their feet, quickly reaching the missing group's last known location. Immediately, Wisp spots a couple guns scattered in the snow, some nearly buried. However, the area is barren of life.
"Well this is..." Weasel starts, walking out onto the scene.
"Peculiar." Wisp finishes, breaking his deadpan expression to raise an eyebrow. He takes a couple steps forwards as well, kneeling down to examine one of the guns. "Ammo's been used. What type of training did they say it was again?"
"Stealth. Guns were probably a precaution." Weasel hums, wandering off a bit. Wisp knows better than to lose sight of the man, and watches him carefully. "Hey, come check this out." Weasel suddenly calls. Wisp sprints over, following Weasel's gaze to a bunch of black feathers which are littered across the ground. "Seems like our Culprit is an animal. It must have been hunting birds or something." He concludes.
