Rimuru adjusted her royal robes with a mixture of confidence and reluctance. Negotiating alliances wasn't her forte, but as the leader of Tempest, she had a duty to ensure the survival and prosperity of her nation. Beside her stood Guy Crimson, his presence as imposing as ever, exuding a calm indifference that barely masked his keen observation. The meeting hall of Lubelius exuded a somber elegance. Golden chandeliers illuminated the solemn expressions of those gathered. Louis Valentine, The Holy Emperor sat at the head of the table next to Rimuru, his sharp gaze fixed on her. Hinata Sakaguchi stood to his left, her composed demeanor a stark contrast to the unease radiating from the surrounding Saints.
Before the discussions began, the doors opened to reveal a figure clad in black and crimson. Luminus Valentine entered, her pale skin glowing under the warm lights. Her serene yet commanding presence made the room fall silent.
"Luminus," Louis greeted her, bowing slightly. "Your presence here was unexpected."
"Did you really think I'd let such an important meeting happen without me?" "I only went to order some pastries." she replied with a faint smirk, taking a seat near Rimuru. Her eyes flicked to Guy. "And you... I see you're keeping things interesting, as always."
Guy chuckled. "I try."
The formalities resumed, with Louis opening the floor for discussions.
"The purpose of this alliance is mutual benefit," Louis began. "Tempest's growing influence can aid Lubelius, while we provide stability and support against common threats."
Rimuru nodded, but before she could respond, Luminus interjected. "That's all well and good, but I'm more curious about one particular detail."
Her crimson and ice blue eyes landed squarely on Guy and Rimuru. "What exactly is your relationship?"
Rimuru blinked, caught off guard. "Excuse me?"
"You heard me," Luminus said, a sly smile tugging at her lips. "The two of you have been awfully... close lately. It's enough to make anyone wonder."
Beside her, Hinata raised an eyebrow but remained silent, clearly intrigued by the unfolding drama.
"Are we really doing this again?" Rimuru muttered under her breath, shooting a glance at Guy.
"Apparently," he replied, utterly unbothered.
Louis cleared his throat, attempting to steer the conversation back on track. "This is not the time for personal speculation. Let's focus on the terms of the alliance."
Despite the brief derailment, the negotiations continued smoothly. Rimuru proposed a mutual defense pact, while Louis and Luminus outlined the Church's expectations. Hinata, though mostly silent, occasionally offered sharp insights that helped bridge gaps between the two sides.
When the terms were finally agreed upon, Louis extended a hand toward Rimuru. "For the sake of our nations, let this alliance mark a new beginning."
Rimuru shook his hand firmly. "Agreed."
As the meeting adjourned, Luminus approached Rimuru with a knowing look. "You handled that well, considering the circumstances. But don't think I've forgotten my question."
Rimuru groaned. "Why does everyone keep asking that?"
"It's simple," Luminus replied with a smirk. "You two are entertaining."
With a chuckle, she left the room, leaving Rimuru to wonder if diplomacy would ever come without its fair share of complications.
Back in Tempest, the bustling streets and vibrant decorations reflected the excitement for the upcoming Founder's Festival. Rimuru barely had time to breathe before Diablo appeared in her office, his usual elegance radiating from his every movement.
"My lord," Diablo began, bowing deeply. "I've returned with the reports you requested."
Rimuru gestured for him to proceed. "Let's hear it."
Diablo's golden eyes gleamed with pride. "The arrangements for the ballroom dance are progressing splendidly. I've taken the liberty of suggesting a theme: Black and White Swans with a tad bit of Gold. A celebration of duality and elegance, much like the bond we share with our allies."
"Black and White Swans with a bit of Gold huh?" Rimuru mused. "That's... actually a great idea, elegant too."
Diablo's smile widened. "Naturally. And to add a touch of sophistication, I suggest that guests adhere to a formal dress code inspired by the theme. It will emphasize the unity we seek to display."
Before Rimuru could respond, the door burst open, and Ramiris flew in, her tiny wings flapping frantically.
"Rimuru!" she exclaimed, her voice as high-pitched as ever. "You're not gonna believe what I've come up with for the festival!"
"Ramiris," Rimuru said, holding up a hand. "Take a breath and slow down."
The diminutive Fairy Queen landed on the desk, her excitement barely contained. "Okay, okay! So, you know how I've been working on that dungeon project? I think the festival is the perfect time to unveil it!"
"The dungeon?" Rimuru repeated, raising an eyebrow. "You mean that massive underground maze you've been building?"
"Exactly!" Ramiris beamed. "Think about it—people love challenges, and this dungeon will be the ultimate test of skill and strategy. Plus, we can use it to train our forces and attract adventurers from all over!"
Diablo tilted his head, intrigued. "An intriguing proposition. It would certainly add a unique flair to the festivities."
Rimuru leaned back in her chair, considering the idea. "It's risky, but it could work. What kind of rewards are you thinking for those who complete it?"
"Oh, I've got it all planned out!" Ramiris said, pulling out a scroll nearly as large as herself. "Rare treasures, exclusive equipment, maybe even titles for the top performers! And we'll have different difficulty levels to keep things fair."
"That... actually sounds amazing," Rimuru admitted. "But are you sure it's ready?"
"Of course it is!" Ramiris said confidently. "Well, mostly. I just need a bit more time to finish the lower levels."
Rimuru sighed. "Alright, we'll include it in the festival. But you'd better make sure it's safe and organized. I don't want any accidents."
"You got it, boss!" Ramiris saluted before zipping out of the room.
Diablo watched her go, a faint smile on his lips. "She may be chaotic, but her enthusiasm is infectious."
"Yeah," Rimuru agreed. "And with ideas like hers, this festival might just be the best one yet."
As the preparations continued, Rimuru couldn't shake the feeling that this festival would be more than just a celebration. It would be a turning point—a chance to bring people together and solidify the bonds that would shape Tempest's future.
