The streets of Tempest were alive with celebration. Today was the official day of Founder's Festival, a momentous occasion marking Tempest's growth and unity. Banners of vibrant colors fluttered in the wind, music echoed through the city, and stalls lined the streets, offering a variety of food, games, and handcrafted goods.

At the heart of it all stood Rimuru, preparing to deliver the opening speech.

The crowd gathered before the stage, a sea of allies, adventurers, and citizens. Rimuru stepped forward, dressed in her usual sleek attire, exuding a calm confidence. Guy Crimson stood nearby, his imposing presence drawing attention, though he remained aloof.

"Welcome, everyone," Rimuru began, her voice amplified magically to reach every corner of the city. "Today, we celebrate not only Tempest but also the bonds we've formed with all of you. From humble beginnings to a thriving nation, none of this would've been possible without your support and trust."

The crowd cheered, their enthusiasm resonating through the air.

"Let's use this festival as a chance to strengthen those bonds, to share stories, and to create memories. Thank you for being here, and let's make this Founder's Festival unforgettable!"

With that, Rimuru raised her hand, and a cascade of magical fireworks lit up the sky, marking the start of the festivities.

After the speech, Rimuru made her way to the section of the festival dedicated to her students from the Freedom Academy. The children were ecstatic to see her, swarming around with excited chatter.

"Sensei, Sensei!" Kenya called. "That was such a cool speech!"

Alice giggled. "You looked so serious up there!"

Gale nudged Ryota, who grinned mischievously. "Hey, Sensei, are you and that red-haired guy... y'know?"

Rimuru's face turned slightly pink. "What? No! Where are you kids getting these ideas?"

Ryota shrugged. "Everyone's talking about it. You're always together."

Before Rimuru could retort, Ryota suddenly grew serious. "Sensei, Miss Tiss fainted earlier."

"What?!" Rimuru exclaimed. "Why didn't anyone tell me sooner?"

At that moment, Hinata Sakaguchi arrived, her sharp eyes scanning the group. "What happened?"

The students quickly explained the situation. Hinata sighed, already taking charge. "I'll check on her. You two"—she gestured toward Rimuru and Guy—"go enjoy the festival. I'll watch over the kids."

Rimuru hesitated. "But—"

"No buts," Hinata interrupted, a rare smirk crossing her face. "Besides, Rimuru, you owe me. You'll have to watch over Luminous later, though."

Guy chuckled as he nudged Rimuru. "Looks like we're being kicked out."

Rimuru shot him a look but relented, thanking Hinata before being practically dragged away by Guy.

The festival's schedule was packed, and next up was the music performance. The first act was an orchestra led by Tact, a young boy who had initially been disheartened about not being able to help with the festival's construction. With some encouragement, he had channeled his energy into organizing the orchestra, and the result was nothing short of breathtaking.

The melody swept through the crowd, a harmonious blend of strings, winds, and percussion that captured the spirit of the festival.

Following the orchestra, Shion and Shuna took the stage for a duet. The piano and violin complemented each other beautifully, their performance a mix of elegance and power.

As the final note faded, the audience erupted into applause. Rimuru, caught up in the moment, began clapping but noticed Guy had beaten her to it. His applause was deliberate and commanding, inspiring the crowd to cheer even louder.

Rimuru smirked. "Show-off."

Guy glanced at her, his smirk mirroring hers. "What can I say? Someone has to set the standard."

Next, Vesta and Gabiru took the stage to deliver an informative yet engaging speech. Vesta led the presentation, explaining the hipokute herb—its unique properties, its cultivation, and its role as the main ingredient in Full Potions. Gabiru, ever enthusiastic, added dramatic flair, ensuring the crowd stayed entertained.

Despite Gabiru's theatrics, the speech left the audience more informed and appreciative of Tempest's advancements in alchemy and medicine.

After the speeches, Rimuru and Guy wandered through the festival stalls, sampling food and admiring crafts. Rimuru purchased small trinkets and snacks, marveling at the creativity of her citizens.

Unbeknownst to her, Guy had slipped away briefly, returning with a carefully wrapped package that he tucked away discreetly.

"Where'd you go?" Rimuru asked when she noticed him reappear.

"Just looking around," Guy replied nonchalantly.

Rimuru narrowed her eyes but decided not to press further.

As the day turned to evening, it was time for the grand Ballroom Dance. Rimuru found herself in her chambers, where Shuna was putting the final touches on her outfit.

Her dress was a deep royal blue, accented with gold embroidery. Her boots, white with black laces, had a modest heel, adding a touch of elegance.

"Are we late?" Rimuru asked nervously.

Shuna smiled. "Not at all. You'll be the star of the evening."

When Rimuru entered the ballroom, the sight took her breath away. The room was illuminated by crystal chandeliers, and the guests were dressed in their finest attire.

Milim was the first to greet her, looking surprisingly elegant in a dark purple gown with gold accents. Her hair was half-tied, adding a touch of sophistication.

Ramiris flitted over, wearing a sparkling black dress. "Rimuru! You look amazing!"

Frey and Carrion joined them, Frey in a deep red dress that matched Carrion's tie. Diablo stood nearby, his suit even more extravagant than usual, and Luminous was resplendent in a blue and gold dress paired with black heels.

"Where's Guy?" Rimuru asked, scanning the room.

Ramiris grinned mischievously. "Your crush? Over there." She pointed toward him.

"He's not my crush!" Rimuru exclaimed, her voice louder than intended. Her cheeks flushed when she realized she had drawn everyone's attention, including Guy's.

Guy approached, dressed in a sharp black suit. His tie, Rimuru noticed, was the same color as her dress.

"You're matching," Ramiris teased, earning a glare from Rimuru.

Rimuru turned to Guy. "The tie...?"

Guy sighed. "Blame Milim. She insisted."

Rimuru gave Milim a suspicious look, but Milim only grinned innocently.

Before Rimuru could say more, Soka announced the start of the dance. The music began—a classical piece that set the mood perfectly.

Guy extended his hand toward Rimuru. "Well, would you like to dance?"

Rimuru's mind blanked for a moment, but she eventually nodded, allowing him to lead her onto the dance floor.

As the music shifted to a slower, more romantic tune, the world seemed to melt away. For Rimuru, it was as if only she and Guy existed in that moment, moving in perfect harmony.

When the dance ended, Rimuru returned to her seat, her thoughts a whirlwind of emotions. Guy's behavior, the teasing from her allies, and her own reactions—all of it left her questioning.

What was really happening between her and Guy?
