Ella's fingertips grazed her soft blonde curls, and she stretched out of bed. What had happened the night before? Her body seemed to give out small electric shocks as her nails ran across them. Ella stood up to see the other half of the bed neatly made up, with an ivory note paper laced across the pillow. Carefully picking it up, Ella u smoothed the note- reading it, "Dear Ella, tonight was amazing. I would be over pleasures to do this again some time.
Sincerely Linda.

The letter seemed to convey no emotion. Ella flicked he piece of paper into the trash as she stepped into her shower. No emotion, because it wasn't emotional. It was just another one night stand, she was just another piece of flesh to sleep over. Just as useless as her father viewed her. A worthless, invaluable piece of skin and bone.

Infuriated by these thoughts Ella quickly stepped out of the shower, and pulled on a sun burnt orange jumpsuit, without glancing in the mirror.
_________
Ella stepped onto the maroon carpeting of her office firm. "Good morning boss," Tyson smiled. Why was he in such a damn good mood? Why was he cheerful when Ella was everything but. If she couldn't smile, neither could he, Ella thought as she stampeded into her office, "wipe that grin off your face,at get to damn work. For Christ's sake I leave you somewhere, I throw money at you like you can be paid of like a worthless piece of shit and you have the audacity to smile."
Tyson rolled back in his chair, accepting the fact Ella was not and would never say anything nicer, ever!

Ella shook her blonde fro profusely as she slammed the door to her office and went into her closet, she needed a drink asap. Rolling her thumb over the phone she saw she had 2 messages so she gently slid the bottle of rum back in her closet and tapped her phone. They were all from the same number. Opening up her iMessages she read, " Hey Linda here, didn't mean to rush out like that, I programmed my number in your phone, you told me the password last night when you were drunk. Don't worry I won't tell anyone :) Ella's eyes ran down her screen to the next message,
"hey text me back when you wake up."

Ella's mocha thumbs sprinted across the screen.
"Hey just saw that."
A few moments later little gray dots appeared.
Ella coiled a piece of her hair around her finger several times, undoing it and curling it back up again, nervously waiting for the reply.
"Hey," Linda said.
That was it, just hey, it took her ten minutes to type 'hey' Ella shook her head madly before typing a response, "what's up?"
A few minutes passed, so Ella decided to tidy up. By tidy up she really just threw a peice of paper away and paced around her desk. Swoosh! Ella raced over to her desk, setting her eyes on an image Linda had sent of her sitting in her desk chair provocatively in a scarlet red dress. Underneath the image a message read "just sitting here."
"Sexy," Ella typed back.
"What you wearing?" Linda asked.
"Wouldn't you like to know," Ella responded.
"I'm far more interested in what's underneath [smirking emoji]," Linda sped back.
"Oh really," Ella said, blatantly smiling in the floor.

"Mrs. Tipton, you have a Drs. appointment in 30 minutes," Tyson interrupted Ella's low giggles. "Ok, let's go bumpkin," Ella said barely paying attention resulting in her falling flat on the floor. Suddenly a burst of laughter entered the room. "Ouch!" Ella said lightly,"damn shoes." All the while Tyson was still cackling, "so much for southern grace."
"Yeah yeah now help me up," Ella coughed.
"Help your own self, you're the one who decided to start the war," Tyson said.
"What war, just because I insult you on a daily basis doesn't mean we're at war."
"Not with me babe," Tyson said. "
Who?" Ella asked, throwing her hands up, flustered.
"The floor."
"I'm not at war with the floor," Ella said.
"Really cause it looks like you just attacked it....backwards," Tyson stated.
Ella gave him a look, with her blue eyes looking like daggers going for his skull.
"Okay, okay, I'll help you up," Tyson said, "but first let me take a selfie." Kneeling in front of her and snapping a shot. "#thebossisdown," Tyson laughed as he typed on his phone.
"Me too," Ella laughed as she pulled out her phone, and then snapping a pic.
"#myassistantjustdied," Ella said aloud.
"#what?" Tyson looked sharply at Ella.

Ella smiled,"You moron! help me out of this damn floor."

_____
Ella's pink heels clacked into the harsh teal tile as she took her seat in the waiting room. "Seriously girl, I've never seen you be a normal human," Tyson went on, he'd been doing this since they left the office.
"Yes, sometimes Mr. Browbanks, sometimes I can get a little drunk, sometimes I can be a little mean, but on good days I can be charming as fuck."
"So I take it, that it's a good day," Tyson said.
"Yes."
"Why what happened! Did you take some antibitch pills?"
"No and may I remind you of your language," Ella said highly.
"So it must be love!"
Ella blushed, her face turning bubblegum pink.
"There's no such thing as love, just infatuation."
"It, it is love isn't it!"Tyson demanded.
"No," Ella said lowly as she typed.

"Linda: wyd precious?
Ella: waiting room
Linda: Drs. Suck!!!
Ella: Yup.
Linda: reg checkup?
Ella: no getting test results
Linda: u okay?
Ella: yeah!
Linda: wanna come by after ur done?
Ella: you at home?
Linda: the office, but we can go to my place tonite. Meet me here after!?
Ella: okay"

"#bootycall," Tyson saaid aloud.
Ella had barely noticed he was peering over her shoulder.
"You snoop!" Ella backhanded him.
"Bitch!" Tyson smacked.
"Deal with it?" Ella shook her head.

"Hi, Mrs. Tipton were ready for you," a woman called. Ella looked up to see a gray haired woman, wearing bright azure scrubs. Ella smiled, and handed her phone to Tyson. "Be back in a flash."

_____

The nurses eyes were consumed with sorrow, she almost looked as if she was on the verge of tears. "The doctor will be in a moment," she said, flashing a weak smile at Ella.
Ella hummed contently, swinging her legs above the floor. "It's way too soon, I know this isn't love, but I really really really really like you," Ella sung to herself, immersed in her thoughts about Linda.
Suddenly a gruff voice broke her melodious voice "I'm afraid we found something in your lungs, the doctor continued, "a tumorous something."
