As A.J and John were driving home from their romantic evening, John remembered the events at work.
'Then again, I never loved you.'
John sighed deeply and felt his right cheek. "Phil left quite the mark there..." A.J looked over at John. "Hmm? Did you say something?" John shook his head. "Oh... It's nothing. My co-worker left a mark on my cheek..." A.J chucked. "Don't worry, we'll put an ice pack on it when we get home.""Do you think he hates me now...?" A.J placed a ice pack with a towel on John's cheek. "Probably not. He'll forgive and forget." John sighed and shivered at the cold bandage. "I think I'll have a sick day tomorrow..." A.J raised an eyebrow. "Why? Does your cheek hurt that much?" John shook his head. "No... It's just, will I even be able to see him again?" A.J sighed. "John, don't be so concerned about these kind of situations. It was an accident, you didn't know. Plus, you can try apologizing and taking him out for coffee."
"Alright, I'll see what I can do. We should get some sleep." John stood up and kissed A.J's cheek. "Thank you for the wonderful evening." A.J smirked. "No problem, sweet cheeks." The two walked to their bedroom and lied on the bed. "Are you feeling tired?" A.J asked. "Not really, why?" A.J took off his shirt and rolled on top of John. "Good. I wanted to do a little experiment with you..."
The next morning John woke up to a loud kettle in the kitchen. "What a long night..." John looked around him and smiled. Him and A.J's clothes were scattered everywhere, including a bottle of lubricant on their nightstand. He got out bed and put on some boxers along with a white shirt. "That was some experiment..." John walked down stairs to see A.J making waffles. "Morning, A.J." A.J turned around and grinned. "Good morning, John. Sleep well?" John nodded. "I guess. My rear really hurt after all that." A.J laughed. "Admit it. You loved it." John playfully nudged him and sat at their table.
"So, do you think you're ready to apologize to Phil?" A.J asked while John rubbed his forehead. "I think so. I'll take him out for coffee over our lunch break." A.J smiled. "Good plan. Breakfast is ready." A.J handed him a plate of waffles with syrup and blueberries. "Mmm... This looks good." A.J chuckled and put his own plate of food on the table. "Just a family recipe. Dig in."
John waved at A.J as he drove down the road to his job. 'What if Phil doesn't show up today?' 'What if he decided to quit?' 'What if he was in an accident?!' John thought to himself as he sped past yellow lights and quickly stepped inside the building. "Come on, Phil... Please be in the break room." John opened the break room door and saw Phil panting heavily. "Phil? I-It's just me, John. I'm really sorry about yesterday, It was stupid of me to interrogate you like that... I hope you can forgive me."
Phil slowly stopped panting and started breathing normally. "I... I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have slapped you like that." Phil turned around and pointed at his eye. "The boss gave me a similar bruise this morning." Phil had a huge black eye on the right side of his face. "Oh wow... The boss did that to you?" Phil nodded sadly. "But I do forgive you, John. Everyone makes mistakes." "Wanna shake on it?" Phil giggled. "Why not hug on it?" Phil wrapped his arms around John, and John hugged back happily. "Wanna grab some coffee over lunch hour?" Phil rubbed his chin.
"How about the casino after work?"
The End.
Author's Note: This story wasn't my best work at all. I had a hard time writing it and thinking of chapter names. I have a better story in mind.
