Friction
The fifteen-minute ride from El Nido airport to our villa was pure chaos.
Well, they're fun to be around, so I can't really complain.
The girls had booked a private villa with three bedrooms in Nacpan Beach Resort. The first room had three beds, each big enough for two people to share. The second room had two beds that could also fit two people each. Finally, there was the master bedroom—it had a private balcony, a private bathroom, and a spacious bed.
I turned to her and gave her a grateful smile. Nice.
Namaywang si Jet. "Mukha ba kaming magkakasyang lima don?"
Sam shrugged. "Edi, pagkasyahin niyo?"
Sarkastiko namang tumawa si Trent. "Logic ba 'yan?"
Liam stepped in with a more reasonable suggestion. "Since the master bedroom is pretty big, one of us can share it with Alex. That way, four people can stay in one room, and two in the master bedroom—if that's okay with Alex."
I nodded, though sharing a room wasn't something I was used to. "Yeah, that works for me."
This was a group trip, after all. Adjusting was part of the package, and besides, the master bedroom looked spacious enough. I could deal with it, especially since there was probably a sofa in there.
"Then maybe Matt can share with Alex?" Liam suggested, glancing at me. "I mean, I think you'd be more comfortable with Matt."
I glanced over at Matt, who was already looking at me. "If that's okay with Matt, then it's fine with me."
Kaagad naman siyang tumango. "Sure, okay lang din sa 'kin."
That made me feel a little more at ease. Liam was right—I was more comfortable around Matt. We'd already spent a lot of time together when he stayed at my house before, so this arrangement felt natural.
"Great, that's settled then," Liam said, clapping Matt on the shoulder.
Trent, mimicking her stance with mock sass, quipped, "Ano pang tinitingin-tingin mo d'yan?"
Sam shot him a glare before turning to me with a sweet smile. I smiled back, amused. These people are a bunch of...weirdos.
"Don't let that smile fool you," Zach whispered to me. "She's pure wickedness in disguise."
I stifled a laugh and gave him a quick nod. Parang may point naman siya.
"Anong sabi mo Zach?"
"Nothing!" Zach blurted out before bolting into his room like his life depended on it.
