The fields were all watered and inspected. And I was just ready to hop on my bike and go home, but I saw something moving over the horizon in a building that had been cleaned a week ago. A dark figure was moving in the windows and I squinted my eyes to get a better look, but it was too far. The building crew that had cleaned the building consisted of Anthony, the youngest of the Alexander household, Matt, leader of the Alexander household, Joseph, leader of the Roper household and Steven, leader of the Maki household. Cleaning was considered to be very critical, for transferring and finding new things, help us greatly. The building had already been cleaned, so why is somebody in there?
Curiosity took over and I grabbed my bike, and then wheeled it over toward the tall gray building. My hands were gripping the handlebars tightly. I really shouldn’t be going to explore stuff around here yet, considering it could be a lost and confused mutated animal that could attack me, but what animal around here could stand upright and walk? None, that I knew of, so what the hay, its worth a shot.
As I approached the building, I could see it clearer. Whatever, or whoever it was, was on the third floor. I put my bike in the bike rack and bit my lip. What if it was a surviver? What if it attacked me? I pulled my knife out of the sheath that held my knife on my arm and then pushed the door to enter into the building.
It seemed like an mundane office building where people just sat and pushed buttons. I entered the lobby and looked to the left and right, where it opened out into office cubicles with computers. Beside the lobby reception desk, there was two staircases on either side, one with an arrow pointing up and one with an arrow pointing down. I decided to be a good person and walk up the side with an arrow pointing upwards. The halls were all empty of course and screamed boredom. They were a dull hue less gray, everywhere, with splashes of white every now and then. I reached the top of the first staircase and there was a sign that said, “2.” Second floor. I walked to each section of office space, slowly, with my knife in front of me, crouched a little low.
“Hello? Is anybody here?” I shouted when I reached each section. No response. I relaxed a little and headed to the stairwell again. I stepped quietly this time, because I had seen the “thing” to be on this floor. My muscles tensed up as I got near to the top. I flattened myself against the wall and snuck around into the beginning section. No sight of anyone. I went around a wall to reach the next section. Same thing. I eased up and moved onto the third section. Still no signs. “You’re going crazy Alyssa. Stop psyching yourself out..” I said under my breath. The fourth section approached and I heard some rustling, like of papers. Then I heard a crash, which made me jump about 20 feet in the air. My hand tightened on my combat knife and I took a deep breath. I slowly made my way to the doorway to the fourth section and saw the dark figure, but only this time, he wasn’t that dark.
