As the dust settled from the latest chaos, a strange calm hung over the battlefield. The heroes, having narrowly escaped the stampede, floated high in the sky on their flying JCB while below, a new round of absurdities and weirdness was brewing.
Amidst the chaos, one of the Stag Beetles was minding its own business, scuttling across the battlefield with no particular goal in mind. It had somehow managed to avoid the worst of the mayhem so far and was content simply to wander around, its antennae twitching as it explored the strange landscape.
But suddenly, the Stag Beetle's sharp eyes spotted something—something incredibly tiny moving nearby. It squinted its large, dark eyes and scuttled closer for a better look. There, barely visible to the naked eye, was a creature so small and insignificant that it had gone unnoticed by everyone throughout the entire saga.
It was the tardigrade.
The Stag Beetle stopped in its tracks, staring at the tardigrade with a mixture of curiosity and awe. For the first time, someone had noticed the tardigrades. These microscopic, nearly indestructible creatures had been present the entire time, surviving through every explosion, stampede, and magical catastrophe—but no one had paid them any mind.
Until now.
The Stag Beetle, in its insect brain, somehow decided that this tiny creature was no ordinary organism. To the beetle, the tardigrade seemed almost... divine. It was small yet indestructible, insignificant yet unstoppable. The Stag Beetle chirped excitedly and, with great care, gently scooped the tardigrade onto its back.
Soon, more Stag Beetles gathered around, drawn to the sight of the tardigrade. They chirped and buzzed in unison, and before long, the group of beetles began to treat the tiny tardigrade as a king. They lifted it up on their backs, carrying it through the battlefield like a royal procession, shielding it from any potential danger.
The beetles moved through the chaos, hilariously worshipping the tardigrade as their new leader, despite its microscopic size and complete indifference to their adoration. The tardigrade, of course, didn't seem to care one way or the other. It was just hanging on, resilient and unaffected, as always.
While the Stag Beetles carried their "king," Danny Torrance, Wendy Torrance, and Cole Sear stood a little farther off, staring out into the distance with pale, haunted expressions. For them, the madness of the battlefield wasn't just about the physical threats—there was something deeper, something spookier happening that only they could sense.
Danny, his Shining ability growing stronger, trembled as he had another vision. Dark shadows flitted in and out of his sight, ghostly figures that only he and Cole could see. The battlefield was filled with spirits, trapped between worlds, lost in the chaos that surrounded them.
"Mom..." Danny whispered, his voice barely audible. "Do you see them? They're... everywhere."
Wendy, her face pale with fear, clutched Danny's hand tightly. She couldn't see what he was seeing, but she could feel it. The air was heavy with a cold, ghostly presence.
"I see dead people," Cole murmured from nearby, his voice trembling as well. His wide eyes scanned the area, seeing things that no one else could. The battlefield was crawling with spirits—fragments of the past, echoes of lost lives—and it terrified him to his core.
But while Danny, Wendy, and Cole were trapped in their haunting visions, Mr. Munch and Jasper T. Jowls from Munch's Make Believe Band stood nearby, watching the trio with expressions of pure confusion.
