City of Sinful Lights is an open world rpg that takes place in a city that used to have a name but after a disaster that cut off the city from the outside world was renamed the City of Sinful Lights. The local law enforcement of this city was soon taken out by local organized crime gangs. Those gangs then took over the city. Such gangs include the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Titan Hunters, the Yakuza Shintoa, etc. Though in the Outskirts notorious Biker Gangs such as the Sons of Ares, the Phobos Gang, and the Demos Gang.
You, the MC, are the Peacemaker. The one person who doesn't belong to any gang but helps all the gangs get along. Failing that job would cause the City to fall into another chaotic Great Gang War that would destroy the entire city.
The main story begins with you in a car with members of the strongest gang in the City of Sinful Lights. One was keeping an eye on you closely. Matrix. The Second in Command of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. He tells you that when you meet the Boss of the Horsemen that you need to show your upmost respect for her. You remind him that you remember that. Matrix smirks and not-so-subtly flirts with you about how you're so impressive. You take note of that flirtation but ignore it for now.
The car arrives at the Horsemen's Base. The Armageddon Pub and Casino. You enter the pub and see the long red-haired boss of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Melara. The Representative Horseman of War. As she was drinking she turned her head to you. She greeted you and said that if you two want to talk that she could take you for a ride on her motorbike. But Matrix reminded her of the rules. That all Peacemaker talks must be held in the base of the gang who is hosting the Peacemaker. Melara sighs and pats the seat next to her. You sit down and thank Melara for her time.
After a long and unsuccessful talk with Melara about possibly opening up some of their 70% of the City to give other gangs a more even share you walk out of the pub to the car. But Matrix stops you. He gives you something that he says will help you very soon. A pair of pistols. Matrix gives you a flirty wink and walks away.
You leave the pub and are met with a shotgun in your face. You recognize your attacker as a member of the Titan Hunters. You take out the pistols Matrix gave you and shoot the gun out of the Titan Hunter's hands. Suddenly a sword is pointed at the Titan Hunter's throat. You look up and see it's Matrix. He explains that he saw the Titan Hunter coming from the back window of the car and knew that he was there to assassinate you. The Titan Hunter immediately admits to it but says it was only because he was forced to by his Boss. Matrix simply utters two words. "Too late,". And takes out his own pistol and shoots the Titan Hunter. You start to scold Matrix about the rules you set as Peacemaker. Which Matrix reminds you of rule 36, subsection 1: If a member of a gang with any kind of ill intention enters another gang's turf and is caught the punishment is execution at the scene. You mentally scold yourself about that rule. Wishing you never implemented it. Matrix heads back into the pub saying that as gangs get more competitive for territory that you should watch your back because your life is in danger. Making connections and allies in the different gangs would be beneficial for you. You thank Matrix for the advice and leave.
Back at your apartment at an undisclosed part of the City you look over what gangs may want to take your life more urgently. The Horsemen aren't on that list because they have the most territory and don't need to worry about you taking you out so that they can take more turf. The Titan Hunters are a top candidate because of what happened. You decide to contact the Horsemen for help. You call the Horsemen and Matrix answers having expected your call. You arrange for Matrix to pick you up for protection under the Horsemen.
In a disguise you meet Matrix who rides up to you on a black robotic horse with an icy mane and tail. And he takes you back the the Horsemen's base. Melara says she'll help you but only as long as you give the Horsemen a little bit of special treatment. Matrix 'clears his throat' and reminds Melara not to take advantage of the gang's guest. As Boss she knows that the Peacemaker doesn't break their own code of conduct. Melara nods and decides to go out for a ride on her motorbike to clear her head. Matrix sighs saying that despite Melara being the Boss he's essentially the one running the gang. He leads you to your temporary new room and says that you should treat these new surroundings as close to home as you can make it seem. You nod and Matrix leaves.
And that's all I can think of for now for story. Now onto character mechanics and characters I've thought of.
There are six elemental types. Fire, Lightning, Ice, Wind, Water, and Physical. There are six weapon types too. Swords, Pistols, Greatswords, Bows, Naginatas, and Gauntlets. Playable characters are called Mercenaries and have a Basic Attack, a Merc Skill, and Merc Revolution. Now the characters I thought of.
Melara is a 5 star Fire Type, Greatsword wielding Mercenary. Her Basic Attack deals six strikes of Physical DMG. Melara's Merc Skill allows her to put on her helmet and sets her hair on fire which increases her ATK and makes all her Basic Attack strikes Fire DMG for a certain amount of time. Holding Melara's Merc Skill lets Melara hop onto her motorbike which increases movement speed and she gains new Basic Attack animation that deal Fire DMG. Melara's Merc Revolution deals AoE Fire DMG the animation changes depending on what state of her Skill she's in.
Matrix is a 5 star Ice Type, Sword wielding Mercenary. His Basic Attack deals five strikes of Physical DMG and one pistol shot that deals Physical DMG. Matrix's Merc Skill summons his horse named Reaper that deals AoE Ice DMG whenever the active Mercenary attacks. Holding Matrix's Merc Skill allows him to mount Reaper and increases movement speed but when he attacks he switches to his normal Basic Attack animations but they deal Ice DMG. Matrix's Merc Revolution allows him to slash the enemies from multiple angles dealing AoE Ice DMG.
Hunter is a 5 star Wind Type, Pistol wielding Mercenary. His Basic Attack deals 6 shots of Physical DMG. Hunter's Merc Skill lets his dash through enemies dealing Wind DMG. Holding Hunter's Merc Skill increases his movement speed without being seen by enemies. Hunter's Merc Revolution summons a Ring of Conquest that deals Wind DMG even when Hunter isn't on field.
Lurelle is a 5 star Physical Type, Naginata wielding Mercenary. Her Basic Attack deals 5 slashes of Physical DMG. Lurelle's Merc Skill slashes all opponents and deals AoE Physical DMG. Holding her Merc Skill lets her put on her stake which increases her movement speed and her personal Physical DMG Bonus. Her Basic Attack animations are similar to without the skill but with her skates. Lurelle's Merc Revolution summons an Anti-Famine charm that heals the active Mercenary.
So. City of Sinful Lights.
