Part 5- The First Confession

C: "Are you heading to the office"
I smile pointedly and nod
He doesn't even ask and just starts walking with me
J: "Yea I guess a concussion is a decent way to skip school, who would have thought".
C: "You always do that"
J: "Do what"
C: "Joke everything off, you know it's okay to be negative sometimes".
J: "Honestly this whole experience is funny".
C: "What do you mean"?
I look away not really knowing how to explain. Chance is cool but I don't know if he's I traveled to the past through a wishing fountain and you're somehow involved and I need your help getting back Cool.
C: "Okay.. you don't want to talk about it, Moving on".
That's something I've always liked about chance even then, he never pressured me. Somehow even now in these circumstances he finds a way to make me feel relaxed.
C: "Hey Jane "
I smirk
J: "Hey Chance"
C: "I think you're really cool and I was wondering if maybe you'd like to be my girlfriend".
It was touching to hear him say those words again; But I knew especially now it would be uncomfortable to be in a relationship with him. He's 11 and I'm 26 ..at least mentally, morally I would be in a cell. But on the other hand, I have to keep him close. I think he's the only way I can get back to reality (there goes gravity) .
J: "Chance, can you wait"?
C: "Do you mean like give you some time to think"?
J: "No, I like you but we're still so young. I don't want you to not be my friend anymore either. I want us to stay close. Do you think maybe you could wait for me"?
C: "So you like me"?
Typical 11 year old only hearing what he wants
C: "Yea Jane I'll wait".
He smiles while walking me up to the Office doors
J: "I'll see you tomorrow Chance"
C: "Yea make sure to put ice on your head Jane! See you tomorrow "!

I'm sorry I have to lead you on like this.
The ride home wasn't quiet my mother went off about being called from work but obviously I couldn't hear her my mind was focused on what I'm supposed to do now.
