Song: F U By Lily Allen
"No ma'am, you're going to need to reset it. Hold the right hand button for 3 seconds. Did anything pop up? Oh well turning it off works fine. Are you able to send that message now? That's great Mrs. Grey thank-you for calling wireless tech support. You have a great day now."A ringing bell strolls through the cubicles, Mary.
"Ok people it is 5 o'clock turn those computers off! Do not take any more phone calls"!
Don't have to tell me twice
"Oh Jane can we chat real quick"
I politely smile and respond
"Of course Mary I'll be there once I wrap up my station"
She returns with an equally fake smile and slithers back to her office. My teeth tear at my lip, I'm going to be fired today. You may ask, how do you know that? What if you're getting a promotion? Maybe you even won an air fryer from one of those office raffles. I've been in enough jobs to know when I'm being fired. I take my time getting to Mary's office.
"You're a very disciplined worker Jane and you're great with people. So I hope you know it saddens me to have to let you go. Unfortunately we can't get your numbers up and you've had 3 follow ups with no improvement in your call times, not to mention your sales have been poor for the last 8 months. I'm sorry but my hands are tied".
Of course, she's right. I shook her hand and said, "thank you for my time here. Can I contact you for a reference for the future"?
Soon enough I scooped up my belongings and was out the door. 10 months, it's a shame, that was my longest lasting job. I walked down to the nearby park, deciding to perch by the water fountain there. The copper Pennie's caught my eye one was particularly rusted, almost as blue as the water itself. I sigh looking at my reflection really feeling the main character energy this would be the low point right before the high when the mc meets the love of her life, It almost makes me laugh. This is the real world not some wattpad fan fiction I would read before bed. I let out a big sigh and decide to fiddle with my things. My fingers brush against a metal frame. Pictured is me and my fiancé Derrick at Six Flags in Texas, it was amazing. He even proposed on that trip. Now I have to worry about this, how am I going to tell him? After huffing and puffing for long enough I picked myself up and headed the way home.
