☀️ Jenna Walker - July 21, 2015

The minute I walked into work, I was bombarded by my fellow coworkers which startled me to no end because last time I checked, no one seemed to care much of the new girl. But the minute my confusion dwindled down, I was able to hear exactly what they were shouting at me.

"Tanner wants to talk to you! Everyone knows what that means!" One of the assistants say.

"Welcome to the club!" Says a lead photographer.

"I bet she slept with him to get a promotion." Whispers the pretentious to the suck-up.

"I bet she's getting fired." Mumbles a judgmental.

I quickly push my way through the crowd of workers and find myself face-to-face with Hailey who smiles brightly at me as she clutches a stack of photos in her hands. And from what I can see, they were the ones I took at the July party. Once I adjust my shoulder bag, she speaks up. "Tanner has some news for you!"

And the minute those words leave her lips, my heart starts beating erratically even more so as I make my way towards Tanner's office to receive the news the whole place was buzzing about. And though I don't really want to get my hopes up, the other workers had mentioned a promotion on the rise and I was more than ecstatic. This "news" could be about anything but I was hoping that everyone was right. (Besides the fact that the pretentious accused me of sleeping with Tanner.)

"Good morning, Walker," Tanner greets the minute I step into his office. An office filled with his various works hanging on the walls and a casual yet modern aura with the style of furniture it adorned.

I return the greeting a take a seat in front of the desk.

"I'm sure that the others may have spoiled this surprise but what the hell, I'm gonna tell you anyways." He gives me a smile as Hailey enters and hands him the photos she held. She smiles at me before she leaves. "These photos are nothing I've ever seen before. They're marvelous - I just see a growth in them as the night continues. The very first ones are on the outside looking in, but the progress after to pictures of two men and a woman and so and so forth. This portfolio just screams a story. And that's something that I've yet to achieve."

"Thank you so much." I find myself blushing.

"And this man," he adds while picking up the profile of Zayn. He meets my eyes and smiles. "Nice choice."

I laugh. "Thank you."

He tucks the pictures into a folder before handing them to me. I press the photos to my chest, ones that showed my growth of the night, and watch as Tanner digs through his desk before pulling out a camera I had been dreaming of since I've gotten here. A Canon EOS Rebel T5. "All of our lead photographers have this camera."

I blink at the beauty that sits on the desk.

"And this one, is yours."

And throughout the day, I couldn't stop smiling. I had my first client - one who requested an appointment for their daughter's senior pictures - and was told by Tanner to explore the city and take pictures of what speaks to me. Which I do, but not before stopping by ZeN's and telling Zayn everything that had happened moments ago. He congratulates me with a hug and a kiss before Niall and Clover pull me into a group hug.

The next hour, I find myself entering Starbucks for an exploring break. "Hey, Jenna! Aren't you supposed to be at work?"

"Hey, Blake." I greet my neighbor before picking up the camera around my neck. "I got myself a promotion and Tanner told me to run wild."

"Congrats!" She exclaims before taking my order. "This one is on the house."

(A/N): AHHH, all that's left is the Epilogue! I'm so excited yet sad - this was such a fun story to write. I love me some adorable Zayn.

This was more of a Jenna chapter but I'll make up for it in the Epilogue ;)
