☀️ Jenna Walker - July 1, 2015

In my few months of moving to the largely known NYC you could consider me friendless. (The only friends I could actually consider being my friends are the two best friends that live next door to me who are very sweet and lend me groceries like a typical neighbor would.) It may be that at my job, everyone had already created their very own social groups and I did not fit into any of them. There were the lead photographers, the assistants, the pretentious or the suck-ups, and the judgmental. I was simply an intern.

"Hey, Jen," greets Hailey, the woman who hired me. Really, the only person who acknowledges my presence here at Click! and it could be out of pity but I accepted it either way.

"Hello," I say back, sipping my coffee. I was standing beside the break table, a place that held treats and refreshments for both the workers and any models lurking around. My eyes scanned over every social group before settling back onto Hailey Grant.

She pours herself some coffee before drinking it black, not exactly my favorite type of coffee but I'm not judging. She meets my eyes. "Are you going to the Independence Party on Saturday?"

"I wasn't exactly invited to that," I say fiddling with the cup in my hands. The Independence Party was basically the topic of every conversation here at the studio. From what I've heard, it's been a tradition since five years ago and has been a hit ever since - people say it's the biggest party of the year (which is odd considering New York is the place when it comes to New Years).

"Nonsense, everyone is invited!" She exclaims, frightening me a little. I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear and gesture for her to continue. Finally, a party I've heard about where I don't need an invitation.

When I was trying to make friends with my coworkers I would listen in and hear them talking about a party, I would step in and say that it sounded like fun but they'd reply with "invite only, y'all". (Despite the fact that my accent isn't all that strong.) Parties are where you make friends, and boy was I desperate for some. Maybe at the party I could actually find some.

"It's in Brooklyn... uh, Output is what it's called - you should totally come!" She gives me a smile before she's beckoned by one of the lead photographers to supervise the latest photo shoot. I wave her goodbye before smiling down at my coffee.

This is it. This could be the thing I've been waiting for. A chance at actually meeting people that don't rope themselves into a specific group, meeting people that don't just see me as that intern from Tennessee but as the girl who aspired to be in photography so much that she chased that dream to where it took her, which happened to be the bustling city of New York. Who knows, maybe I'll meet a cute guy there as well. (I'd always read novels involving the couple meeting at a gathering or something of the sort.)

"Walker!" Exclaimed Tanner, one of the supervisors, beckoning me to his side. When I'm at his side he turns to me with a thoughtful look. "I'm going to give you your first assignment here and it'll be a simple task."

"Yes, sir?"

"Grant has mentioned a party on Saturday and I request from you fantastic pictures of the night of people, of the fireworks - everything! Could you do that for me?"

"Yes, of course!"

"Don't let me down, this could be your shot for greater things, darling." He then walks away, leaving me more excited for Saturday than I previously was. This was my chance to advance from a pesky intern to something more and my chance on making my stay in New York much more tolerable by meeting people.

"I won't let us down."

(A/N): yay! this is the fourth celebration special out of five! (sorry, Harry. you're last.) anyways, I'm really excited for this one because it involves Zayn-ie and yes, Harry is the one that doesn't quite enjoy fireworks but I'm switching that up a bit besides in the description it claims he's scared of catching on fire. Hm, wonder why. Btw, Niall is gonna be involved in this story and maybe we'll have a few guest stars as well! *wink wink*

P.S. Maia Mitchell is up at the top and she plays Jenna Walker x
