Chapter 267 – Rescue in the Dark

With adrenaline running through his veins and his mind as cold as steel, Gustavo approached his mother-in-law Kris's house. The plan was already drawn up. He had cut the power to the house, plunging it into complete darkness to gain a tactical advantage. He knew that, in the dark, his training and his night vision goggles would give him total control over the kidnappers.

As he entered through the side door that Kris had shown him months ago, Gustavo activated the night vision goggles, transforming the dense darkness into a clear and controlled scene. Every movement he made was silent, every step meticulously calculated. The tension in the air was palpable, but Gustavo was completely focused on the objective: saving Kendall and her family.

Gustavo (thinking): "Now it's a matter of precision and silence... they won't stand a chance."

As he advanced through the house, Gustavo applied all his knowledge of CQB (Confined Environment Combat). With quick, efficient movements, he cleared each room, making sure no kidnappers were hiding. As he approached the living room where the hostages were being held, the sounds of the kidnappers arguing with Kendall and her family echoed through the house. He used the nearby wall to lean against and heard the kidnappers demanding more money, a veiled threat in their voices. Gustavo knew he couldn't wait much longer.

Kidnapper 1's voice: "We told you! Either you get the money or we'll start eliminating you one by one!"

Kendall (in tears): "Please... we're doing everything we can!"

Gustavo's heart sank as he heard Kendall's trembling voice. He knew time was running out. With a quick movement, Gustavo fitted his pistol with a silencer. The power was still off, and he was lurking in the darkness. He knew surprise would be his greatest weapon. Seeing through his night vision goggles where the kidnappers were positioned two armed, one near Kendall and the other near her mother, Kris.

Gustavo advanced with speed and precision. He broke down the door to the room, and before the kidnappers could react, Gustavo neutralized the first with a well-aimed shot to the head. The kidnapper's body fell to the floor without a sound, and the second, confused by the darkness and the sudden chaos, tried to raise his weapon, but Gustavo was faster.

With a swift movement, Gustavo rolled to the side, deactivated his night vision goggles and activated the power again, flooding the room with light. In that instant, he fired two precise shots at the second kidnapper, who fell immediately.

Gustavo (taking a deep breath): "It's over."

Kendall and her family, still tied up, looked at Gustavo in shock, but relief at the same time. He ran to Kendall, quickly removing her restraints, while she hugged him tightly.

Kendall (emotional): "I knew you would come... I knew you would save us."

With everyone safe, Gustavo quickly checked the surroundings, making sure there were no more threats. He bent down to comfort Kendall, who was still shaking from the trauma of what had just happened.

Gustavo (looking into her eyes): "It's okay now, love. I promised I would always protect you."

Kendall wiped away her tears, holding Gustavo's face, while Kris, Kim, Khloé, Kourtney and Kylie watched in shock, still processing what had just happened. Kendall's mother, Kris, could hardly believe what she had witnessed.

Kris (still in shock): "You... you killed them in seconds... How...?"

Gustavo (seriously): "I did what I had to do to protect you."

The weight of the situation finally began to fall on everyone, but the sense of relief was clear. Gustavo stood up, still holding Kendall close, and reassured her. Kendall (still emotional): "You... are my hero."
