"I swear, you two are mad scientists," I said, pointing a finger between my parents. They invented a machine that could travel anywhere in space. It could even travel through different dimensions. Just one thing. It hasn't been tested yet, they don't know what could happen, and they wanted me to be the test subject. "What if I can't find a way back?  There's no guarantee that it'll be another you there or another device there."
"Y/N, it'll be fine. Just step in and tell it what dimension you want to go to. Even fictional ones work," mom reassures me. My ears perk up at the fictional ones part. "Really? So I can meet the Doctor?"
My dad just laughs and says, "Any world you want to go to, baby girl.  It won't even hurt."
"Okay," I say, still hesitant.  I grip the strap of the backpack containing the equipment I might need and hug my parents one last time.  "I'll miss you two," I say before stepping into the machine.  I look out the window and wave.  I type "Doctor Who" into the machine's console.  It takes off, and a few hours later, I feel a thunk.  "Owww," I say, rubbing my head.  It turned sideways a good deal and I hit my head on the console and the walls.  I open the door and look out.  Nothing.  "This whole thing was a total waste of time," I mutter.  Despite this, I step out to explore.  The machine takes off without me.  I turn around and say, "No! Don't leave me!"  Great. I have no way to get back home, and I have no money.  A building I'm standing near explodes and I'm blown on my back.  The next thing I hear is robotic voices saying "DELETE! DELETE!"  Then I hear robotic stomping and I see metal feet next to my head. "Is that a-" I say, sitting up.
"CYBERMEN!" I hear a familiar Scottish voice yell.  Is that the Doctor?  I hear a pulsing sound, another explosion, and the same voice say, "Clara, can you not move any slower?  I swear, you're making me miss Amy!"
"Who is this 'Amy' you keep talking about?!" a female voice says.  That's definitely Clara.  "Oh my God it worked!" I say, fangirling.  Wait a minute.  If it worked, then that actually is a cyberman standing next to me.  I scream, and then feel a hand grip my arm.  I turn around with my mouth open to scream again but stop when I see Clara in front of me. "Clara!" I shout.  She looks at me like I have three heads.  "How do you know my name?" she asks.  "Long story. No time. CYBERMEN!" I rush out, pointing at the cyberman looking at us.  "Right. It's a miracle it hasn't shot you yet.  Come on, follow me," she says, grabbing my wrist and running.  She takes me to a blue police box I'm assuming is the TARDIS, opens the door, and says, "Get in.  If you know my name, you should know what this is.  Don't touch anything."  Before I can even say "Okay" she slams the door closed and runs away. Woah. They weren't kidding with the bigger on the inside thing. The console room alone could probably fit 100 of my house.  I ponder whether or not to explore the TARDIS. I decide not to because I'd probably get lost. I sit in the chair near the console. I get dreadfully bored after about ten minutes. "Wait for 20 more minutes and then walk up and down the stairs. You are restricted to the console room," I tell myself. I actually just sit there for another 3 hours before the doors open. Clara and the Doctor walk in. The Doctor just points at me. "You," he says with that seemingly permanent scowl on his face.
"M-me?" I say, trying not to fangirl.
"Clara told me that you knew her name and you were familiar with cybermen. How?"
"My name is Y/N. I come from a dimension where you are just characters of a long-running science-fiction TV show. I adored the show and am a huge fan of you two. My parents made this machine that's like the TARDIS but it can't travel through time. It can travel through different dimensions, however." I continue the story until the point we're at now.
"So basically, you're an orphan with no way to get back home," Clara says. I nod my head, silently confirming what she said. She turns around and has a whispered conversation with the Doctor. When she stops, she turns around and says, "The Doctor and I would like to know whether or not you want to travel with us." A few minutes pass before I realize what she's proposing. I gasp and say, "Yes! Most definitely! I've been imagining this for years. Thank you thank you thank you!" I hug Clara, then I hug the Doctor. "Do we have to with the hugging?" he says. "Yes. Yes we do," I say. I can practically hear him roll his eyes. "Okay!" He says, shoving me off of him. "Where do you wanna go first, Y/N?" He asks. I think for a second. Lots of different destinations fly through my head. A light bulb goes off in my head. "Can we just tour the TARDIS for a bit? I've wanted to do that too," I say. "All of space and time, and you just want to do that? We can do that any time," he says, clearly annoyed by my choice. "Pleaseeeee?" I say, begging. He scoffs and says, "Fine. I'll take you around." I mentally cheer as he walks in front of me and Clara. After this, we travel to many different planets and time periods. These are the best years of my life.
