CHAPTER 7 IS IT REALLY TIME TO GO?
Time: 1:27 a.m.
Date: July 11th, 2024
You're in bed, on your phone, just lying there. It's been a long day, and you've been tired.
Mother and father have new jobs. Mom works 7–6 every weekday, as does father. Until the time they get home, you will be alone with your four siblings all day.
It was a night you felt horrid. You had back pain, and you had a dry throat. You began thinking about the worst things in life, such as the 7 years it had been since you had a sleepover or even gone to a friend's house. Your aunt died two days before your 14th birthday, and no one told you until the day after. You miss her so much. She meant the world to you, and now she's gone. Gone. You glanced over at the wall on which your scarves were hung. Suddenly, you felt a pain in your chest. You stand up and slowly walk towards the scarves, and thoughts run through your mind. You walk back to the bed, scarf gripped in hand. You double-looped it around your throat and deeply sighed as you pulled the ends.
You feel the mixture of cold and heat change. It feels strange. Your throat strains.
Your vision slowly grows more blurry and fogged. Pressure fills your head.
It feels like your skull is going to explode.
You glance at the doorway and back at the front door window dimmed from the street lights and your cheap LED light bulb. And you hear your phone go off from a notification.
Your finger released the scarf, and you let a tear drip from your eye. Your palm rested on your forehead, and your knee pressed against your elbow.
"Fuck.." and you look at the phone to see a message from a close friend of yours.
——Hey, sorry, I never answered; I was asleep. How are you? How are you feeling about your aunt? I love you, boo boo.——
"Fuck me, man." You let out rethinking your poorly made choices.
Is it really time to go?
The "im fines
Or "I'm good.
"Im amazing!"
"Im livin"
"Im great"
Is it a lie, or are you fine, okay, good, and great?
You answer her and smile a bit. Mentally thanking her for being your friend
