Chapter Two

At the NYPD, James was talking to the squad in the squad room as well as Ben. James was explaining to the squad and as well as his partner Ben about the death of John Wayne while standing at the evidence board.

"So we have John Wayne. He was murdered on 3rd street in Manhattan at a bank. He was twenty three years old, he died of strangulation which is the cause of death and we are still waiting to hear back from the DNA test to see who is responsible for killing Mr. Wayne," says James.

"So he robs a bank and then he is murdered?" says NYPD detective Amelia Johnson.

"Yeah, as well as at the scene, I find out that John has this tattoo on his neck where it was a symbol of a skeleton and a bow and barrow. I'm thinking he could be a part of a gang," says James.

"And as well in the footage, I spotted this suspect who killed John but he was wearing a ski mask and some black clothes where he was strangling John," says James once again.

"But why would someone kill this guy after he robs a bank? I mean, that seems pretty weird," says Detective Lance Jones.

"I don't know. I mean, maybe this guy has a reason to kill John. And if he is a part of a gang, then I'm thinking that John was killed by a gang member," explained James. None of the other detectives says anything.

"Okay, what about blood samples?" says Ben. "Blood samples showed that John Wayne had cocaine in his blood," says James.

"So he was a drug addict?" wondered Amelia.

"Yeah," says James. James folds his arms together.

"So, we are looking at a suspect who could be a part of a gang just like John and so who knows." James said.

"Okay. Well we just have to wait till the DNA is back. But in the meantime we should investigate further more closely on this case," says Ben.

"So we question more witnesses," says James.

James takes a deep breath and clears his throat. Once James and Ben as NYPD detectives were to question another witness named Julian Justine, she was telling James that she noticed the man who killed John and witnessed a murder as John was being strangled.

"You didn't bother calling the police?" says James.

"No. I was scared if I got caught," says the woman.

"But then this other woman said that she found the body and this was after you saw John being strangled," says James.

"Yeah," answered the woman, who was the second witness James was talking to.

"Okay. Um, was there any chance that maybe John Wayne had said something weird on why he would rob this bank?" says James.

"No. But I do remember when I witnessed him being strangled, I heard this man's voice. He was wearing a ski mask and black clothing. He said to the other guy that he was gonna kill him because he disrespected him and broke the rules. I don't know what he means by that. And the next thing I knew, I'd thought the guy who was strangling the other guy saw me standing there watching him kill this other guy. So I ran. I was afraid he was gonna go after me," says the woman.

James nods his head. He writes in his notepad once again.

Back at the New York Police Department, James was telling Ben about how the second witness told him that she heard the suspect who killed John Wayne said to John Wayne that he broke the rules and that he was gonna be punished.
