"Hey Saffira could you please pass me these christmas light?" my co-worker's soft voice rang in my ears, I turned around to reach for the lights throwing strings on her way.

Fianna, my co-worker, flashed me a glorious smile "Thanks love!" she cheered starting to put on the lights on the christmas tree while I held onto the strings so it wouldn't mess up.

We have been decorating our library for a week, I already started to grow tired of it. Overwhelming gratitude washed over me knowing this will be our last touch of the decorations. Until we'll have to take it all off, which was even worse.

Yesterday I had to carry the christmas decoration box onto the second floor, my task was to make sure I created enough of holiday vibes that'll make everyone's eyes glisten with joy. In my personal opinion, Fianna had extraordinary talent for decorating, she did it better than I did. At some point I'd rather decorate something else than a christmas tree.

For my own luck I didn't have anything left to decorate on the second floor. The spacious room only ran with a row of bookshelves, the other side of the room lead to a reading or studying space, the quietest spot in this library. We often got words of praise because our library turned out to be a castle of tranquility.

I put on some warm light around the windows, calculating cautiously if I didn't miss out any spot. After an hour of messing around with the lights alone I sprinted my way downstairs.

A bright christmas tree caught my eyes, the tree marvelously illustrated with astonishing decorations and the light luminously bright it made my eyes sparkle as my gaze darted towards the center of the room.

Fianna heard me coming, she stood in front of the christmas tree taking in the mesmerizing beauty it radiated.

She turned around to face me, flashing me another graceful smile, Fianna could easily be the christmas tree if she wanted to, you couldn't tell who shone the brightest, Fianna or the christmas tree.

"All done, she's gorgeous isn't she?" She exhibited her work of art to me, tucking the strand of her short black hair behind her ear.

"You did an excellent job, Fianna!" I admitted earnestly "I couldn't do it better than you!" I stated another fact with her.

She crouched to pick up the empty christmas decoration box "Of course you can, because how do they call it: practice makes perfect!" she strolled off to put away the box, that held her arms locked, her face never dimming the light.

Christmas wasn't my favorite type of a holiday, my family barely celebrated this time of the year. They always excused it as "a stupid holiday, when you waste your money on crap" - christmas music got always turned off whenever it played on the radio, we almost never ate gingerbread, my dad used to say he have eaten them enough, seeing gingerbread around his house made him sick to his stomach.

On a christmas eve my mom brought in the tiniest christmas tree my eyes have ever witnessed she just threw over the fairy lights and we called it a holiday. At school I always kept seeing children brimming with excitement asking everyone what they got from santa under a christmas tree.

Oh yeah, in my household, santa didn't even exist.

Everyone's faces adorned with rays of sunshine sharing their christmas gifts they got what their heart yearned after: someone got the newest Barbie, someone got a puppy they've dreamed for years and someone got a scooter they've been wanting since last summer.

Considering the fact I always got socks my grandma used to knit every year, I felt embarrassed to tell my classmates that I only received socks. To admit they weren't found under a christmas tree, my grandma handed them to me in person even if it didn't count as a christmas gift, I tried to cheer myself with the fact that it did.
