Maraiah's POV
Some of them are not even part of the team. Yes, they're allowed to watch since it's only tryouts, at gamit din namin ang gym ng campus, the same rules and regulations apply with the other teams. I scan my eyes on the other side of the bench, there I saw Sheena, supporting Gwen who's about to take turn, hinihintay na lang niya ang pito mula kay coach Miya indicating that the time started. I honestly really don't know much about basketball, but they're currently doing "The Skills Challenge", where they need to pass
obstacle course format that will challenge their abilities in dribbling, passing and shooting. I could see several hoops inside the court area. As per the mechanics, during the first round, each participants will maneuver around the course as fast as possible, and whoever holds the fastest time to finish will be part of the official lineup."Go baby!" I could hear Sheena's cheer from here. Mas lalo pang lumakas ang pagtili niya nang maipasok ni Gwen ang tira niya from what I think they called three-point area.
"Grabe no? Parang dadaigin pa ata ng women's basketball na'tin this year ang men's team."
As we all know, it's always the men's team, kaya nagtataka rin ako kung anong meron ngayon. Sa pagkakaalam ko, maliban kay Colet na naglalaro talaga ng basketball even outside the school, wala na kaming matatawag talaga na "player". Our school is not that big enough pa naman to compete with other universities kaya wala talaga gaanong kilalang manlalaro sa women's team namin, sa men's, oo, may iilan.
"Hindi mo ba nabalitaan?" Tanong ni Jhoanna sa kaniya. "May inaabangan 'yang mga 'yan." Dagdag ni Jho.
I suddenly feel intrigued, I don't know why, but I remain silent.
"Huh?Sino?" Tanong ni Maloi.
"May member daw kasi tayo who plays in professional league. So, expected, medyo sikat. Jho stated with amusement in her tone. Knowing her competitiveness, well, even I, could say that we're grateful na mayroon kaming teammate na ganon, malaking boost kaya 'yon sa team namin.
"Sino nga?"
"Yong girl crush ko! Aaacckk! Girls, look at her oh, she's so pretty!" Her curiosity grew deeper.
"Samantha!" I averted my eyes back to the court when I heard coach Miya's voice, followed by applause. "Congratulations, you're now officially part of the team!"
I never knew she was into girls huh. They look cute though.
"Ang pretty niya, diba ate Aiah?" Napatingin ako kay Stacey. I raised my brow a little. Hindi ko naman alam anong pinagsasabi niya. All I know is that pulang-pula ang pisngi ng babaeng 'to. Halatang kinikilig.
