"You bet! Pair of twins about your age!" Mrs. Sullivan replied.
Oh. That sentence had a warning sign all over it. I don't want anyone seeing my personal life. You never know where the media is and I need to be CAREFUL!
All of a sudden I was pulled out the door by my new neighbor. "I want you to make some friends honey! Will you take your Mommas nice bag of...um.. chips to my house while we chat. Go meet my kids!
My yard is shaded by trees and covered in flowers and the greenest grass. I make the trek across to the Sullivan home. It was the embodiment of Mrs. Sullivan. It was so cute that woman could have grown cookies from her garden. I push open the door and peek my head through. I have no idea where to go in this house! Theres the living room with a TV and no one watching it. Fine with me!
Oh gosh this is so awkward walking through a random persons house. This hallway will get me somewhere...
Some old rock is playing loudly down the hall. I find the kitchen counter and plop the pitiful bag of chips down, making a loud crunching noise in the process."MOM DYLAN WON'T TURN HIS MUSIC DOWN MOMMM!"
Mrs. Sullivan's first twin barges in and her eyes nearly pop out of her head. She does not hesitate to glare at me while I stare in silence and horror.
"Who are you? Nevermind. MOM DYLAN'S NEW GIRLFRIEND IS HERE!"
"No, hello, no I don't think you understand. I'm the new neighbor and your mum is at my house right now. I had to bring over these...chips."
What is with the word mum today. I can't seem to shake it.
I hear the front door creak open and breath a sigh of relief as Mrs. Sullivan came to save me from her vicious daughter. Instead, the platinum blonde girl from the sandwich shop came strutting through the house.
"Who are you?!" She said, "Sam doesn't have friends."
I can't believe I had gotten myself thrown into a sticky situation almost immediately after arrival. I want this summer to be fun filled not moody girl filled.
"Andrea you know I have friends. Cooler people exist other than your posse," this Sam girl retorted, "but actually I was just figuring out who she was too."
"If your brother thinks he can bring pretty little girls over and not get caught, he is wrong! I can't believe he'd do this to me. Where is he?!"
Andrea ' s shoes clacked down the hallway towards the loud rock music and a door slammed shut, which was followed by lots of muffled argument.
"Ha ha! This is fun already, messing with Andrea. I can't believe my brother messes around with HER... Hey neighbor girl, I'm Samantha Sullivan. All my friends call me Sam, but you can call me Samantha for now."
"That's kind of an unusual introduction."
"I know, that's why I like it."
"My name is Emily Woods. I just moved here, and your the first teenager I've seen in this neighborhood!"
"Yeah, poor mummy didn't know she be getting into the old folks corner of town, but it works. All these old ladies act like my grandma! You'll learn to love it."
Samantha was a tall, tan brown haired beauty. She had an obvious toughness to her and looked like she was super athletic. I'm a pretty good judge of character. Freckles spotted her nose and I think I saw hazel eyes after she was done glaring at me.
Leaning on the counter, Samantha and I watched as Andrea dragged this boy from his habitat. He too, looked very athletic and tall. His hair was blonde and his eyes were hazel just like his sister. "No no no I don't know who this girl is! God, she's probably trying out for volleyball or something and Samantha is taking pity on her!" He was already spewing words before he rounded the corner into the kitchen.
"SAM TELL ANDREA THE TRUTH!"
"yes, sorry Andrea, he hates you and you need to leave. He likes someone else."
"Dylan I can't believe you I am sooooo-
"HELLO EVERYBODY. My name is Emily Woods. None of you know me, well except you briefly , platinum blonde. I just moved here and came to deliver chips. Mrs. Sullivan is next door. Yay. Good. Everything is cleared up. I am no one's secret girlfriend or pitiful volleyball player."
I felt bold and in that moment, I cracked a smile. Samantha was laughing at Andrea ' s confusion, but all Dylan did was stare.

Thank you, thank you all.
