I have really bad writer's block so this one is going to be really short– kind of just a filler chapter and it's gonna suck so...

I want to talk to Kitty, I just don't know how. Something has been up with him for the past week and it kills me that I can't help him. He's not eating, being distant, and avoiding any conversation. (Even more than usual)

We stand outside the double doors leading to the library where both of us spent so many happy nights around the Hamilton's dinner table or walking through town during the summer not even doing anything just watching all the people talk. Seeing how things were outside of the cramped palace was nice, like letting out a breath held in for too long.

Everything is exactly how I remember it, except for the garden that's been taken over by weeds. Mr. Hamilton used to have the most beautiful garden.

"Mr. Hamilton would have a heart attack if he saw his precious garden in this state." I try to joke, praying that it lightens the mood. All I get is a shadow of a smile from Kitty. Hey, that's an improvement.

"Yeah, maybe one night we can come down and fix it. Not much, maybe just clean it up a bit, get rid of the weeds and stuff." He tells me, barely more than a whisper.

"Oh and we can plant these flowers!" I lift the bouquet in my hand slightly. "Jasmine would love it!" Kitt just nods and sadly smiles at me.

We fall back into a comfortable silence, something I'm used to around Kitty, something normal for the first time in what feels like forever, even though it has only been a week.

We wait outside just admiring the small town displayed (AN: They are not in Loot Alley this is a different place I made up. I don't have a name for it yet.) in front of us. It reminds me of where me and my parents used to live before the incident. Every morning me and my dad would go into town and get breakfast from a small bakery. He would get egg sandwiches for him and my mother. I would alternate between a blueberry bagel or a fruit salad. (I have no idea if these foods actually exist in Ilya but umm... yeah) Then when we would get home my mom had set the table with plates and fresh apple juice– my favourite and she would sing to me before I went to bed and my dad taught me archery and read me stories until I fell asleep and neither of them deserved to drown.

Kitty pulls me into a tight hug and wipes away the tears streaming down my face. (I'm sorry I know this is super fan-fictiony) "I'm sorry J, I've been all messed up and never even thought about you. This is the third time you've lost someone," He kisses the top of my head. "I'm sorry," He whispers into my hair.

Thank you for reading this super terrible chapter and for also reading my rants at the end of the chapter. And 76 reads?! Why do you guys like this stuff so much? Happy Thanksgiving (That's a thing people say right?) to anyone who celebrates it and happy random Thursday to everyone else. Please vote and comment.
