Chapter One

Waking up to screaming and yelling that's great right? No it isn't.
"Lauren Jauregui get up!" my mother yelled. I groaned and looked at the clock. 6:20am!
"Mom why so early its Monday we don't have anything planned today!" i screamed back.
"Lauren you don't have to scream i can hear you perfectly fine right here now get up or your going to be late for the first day of school this year." she scolded. Wait school..... Omg i got to get up Mani will kill me if im late. I got up quickly heading to the shower. I had an hour to get ready people say don't rush thats enough time but obviously they haven't met me. After showering i ran into my closet and looked for something cute. I remembered that Normani said to wear a black shirt today because after school we were going to go to our favorite hang out which requires you to wear something black. I put my shirt on and grabbed my blue skinny jeans with jewels on the backside. I smiled she didn't mention me being discrete with what i wear i thought. I then pulled out my black high tops and pulled them on. After that i saw the time and paniced. I rushed into the bathroom and quickly and surprisingly good i straightened my hair.
"Lauren Normani's here!" my mother shouted. I gasped and grabbed my phone and bag. Going down the stairs i quickly said goodbye to my family and left. Once Normani was in sight i sighed and relaxed. I hopped into her beautiful dark blue audi and took off.
"You look sexy for the first day of school bestie." she teased and i smiled.
"Gotta win the ladies over somehow Mani." i said back. Did i forget to mention im lesbian well surprise cause i am.
"Oh really who's the lucky hook up and book it gal this year or the miss quicky number one or the I'll call you when I'm ready for another round!" she laughed. Ok i was a player as well when it came to the ladies but this year i felt different.
"Actually I'm looking for miss long term this year Mani." i said seriously and the car halted. I looked at her like she was a mad women but she was giving me the same expression.
"Omg finally i can't wait to tell my new friends about this." she gushed and my eyebrows went up.
"So now you got new friends huh what am i the old prada bag you don't use anymore." i joked and she gasped dramatically.
"Never would i ever do to you to what i did to Lucy ever." she said. Lucy's her old prada bag by the way.
"Good because in my book your still my best friends forever girl." i told her grinning now.
"Well duh I'm the only person insane enough to be your friend." she teased and i nodded. During our playful banter Mani had droven us to school. I smiled as i looked at the building before me. I was smart and i enjoyed school alot. Mani said that she felt the same except that here she also felt stuck in the overrated status binding society that or class mates live by. Me and Mani are actually high ranked but thats because we both play sports and were really good. This year I'm thinking of taking cheer leading. We both got out of the car and grabbed our bags. We headed to the front doors. Swarms of people covered the front lawn. Friends and couples reconnecting. A few people waved at me and i waved back and so did Mani. We walked inside school. We just started smiling like the geeks we are and made our way to the office to get our schedules.
"Hey Lauren i hope you don't mind but before we go to our classes do you think that we can meet my friends i really want you to meet them plus one might be to your liking." she said and i nodded.
"If you want to Mani you know i would never hold you back." i said to her and she smiled. We got our schedules and headed to the cafeteria. I knew only one group stayed in there. The populars, the soon to be queens and kings of this school. Knowing Derek King he'd make king this year again. I heard though latley that he found a girlfriend and that they were the perfect defenition of perfection. We walked into the lunch cafeteria and two loud shrieks pierced my ears. A very tall sexy girl came rushing to us with a small innocent looking girl being dragged behind the taller one but also looked enthusiastic. Mani smiled and nodded at them and walked faster towards them.
"Omg Normani finally you said you were going to be early! I even got up to go to school at a reasonable time!" the tall one said frowning slightly.
"Dinah you yourself got here just five mintues ago you lazy bum." the smaller one giggled at Dinah.
"Shut up Ally and you know i usually dont get up this early." Dinah whinned at Ally who was just shaking her head smiling.
"Dinah I'm sorry i made you wait." Mani said politley and the taller girl smiled at her and hugged her tight.
"Its ok." she said. I moved a little to scratch my arm because it itched and i heard a whistle.
"Damn and who is this." Dinah asked looking at me as i faced forward and she almost looked shocked.
"Oh Ally, Dinah this is my best friend Lauren." Normani introduced and i smiled kindly and put my hand out. Ally shook it nicely and returned my smile but Dinah looked at my hand quizically before laughing and hugging me surprisingly. The tall girl smelled nice and i knew that I'd start to crush if i got to close. Pulling away i just smiled.
"Hi nice to meet you guys." i said sweetly. They just smiled and Dinah had this look and for some reason i have this feeling that she's checking me out. I let it pass by not over thinking it.
"Hey where's Camila?" Normani asked. Wait there is another one of them. I sighed Mani is so good at this. The girls smiled and gave Mani this look and she understood instantly.
"She's with Derek." Mani said and they nodded. I was surprised that Mani was friends with Derek Kings girlfriend. Who would of knew. I smiled not really being shocked. The girls said something and Mani started walking away so i just followed and soon enough we were at his table. Derek was surrounded by his football buddies with his arm around someone. Once we got closer i almost died. She was beautiful. Her curvy brown hair rolled down past her shoulders and a little bit farther. Her smile was beyond explainable and different. Her body was lovley in all the right places. Her brown eyes suddenly found mine and they widened but then went back to normal as she smiled at me.
"Mani whose your friend." the angel asked softly. Her voice was even gorgeous and aww stricking. Before Mani said anything i smiled.
"My names Lauren." i said and my voice sounded calm and nice. Thank god because inside i was a mess. This girl got me tripping and i haven't even known her long.
"I'm Camila nice to met you Lauren." she said genuinely. I nodded and was about to say something when Derek butt in.
"Lauren bra whats up?" he asked. Me and him are friends actually i just never told anyone. Mani was shocked at the way he spoke to me and i instantly slipped into a person she hasn't seen yet.
"Nothing much bro just chilling with the bestie you know. Hey you think this year we'll kill Washington High?" i said and now Mani's mouth was touching the floor. Derek smiled.
"Oh we'll crush em for sure man but do you think you can handle their softball team and their track?" he asked playfully and i knew he was challenging me.
"For sure they haven't seen me full speed yet at the track and for softball well we crushed em last year this one we wont even give them any chances. Actually i was thinking of joining the cheer team." i told him and he had a wide smile on his face.
"Finally I've been trying to get you therr forever Jauregui. Plus the girls could need a helping hand." he said. I bust up laughing and nodded. I looked over to see Mani still looking at me like i was a demon with horns.
"Girl chill and close your mouth kay knowing Brice over their he'd take advantage of it." i joked and her eyes went wider as Brice just chuckled and came over to me slapping my back.
"Well now that you told her i can't thanks alot Lauren." he said and i just shrugged.
"Not my fault i dont want my friend to be harrassed Brice plus everyone knows your the most perverted football player here." i joked with him and he just smiled and nodded looking at Mani again but she flipped him off smiling.
"Ok well this was nice but me and Lauren got to go talk to you girls later." Mani said grabbing my hand and taking me with her.
"Bye boys see you on the field." i told them before going with her.
