(SELF HARM TRIGGER!!)
I gently picked up Paisley from off the floor, prying her hands away from her face as I lead her away from the crime scene. That was too scary for her.
I reassured her, "Pais.. Shh.. It's okay.." I said, wiping the tears from her pretty face. She didn't deserve this. No one did.
"She still haunts me, Riley! It hurts! I still can see her body in my brain!" Paisley sobbed, talking about her sister. It broke my heart.
Sasha was a good girl.. I missed her too, she died way too soon. She was just a kid.. It was her first year in the game. She was missed dearly.
Paisley was broken after that day, she didn't even talk to me for a few days after. She still grieved and it hurt me, too.
It was pouring outside, the rain punching the roof as it thundered and light up the sky. It scared me slightly.
Paisley fell asleep in my arms, she had cried herself to sleep. Her eyes puffy with tears when she had caved in.
I sat in a corner with a couple of others, Sam and Valerie. They were mentioning about how they self harmed to cope with the stress.
"Yeah.. I usually use mechanical pencils. They don't leave marks and my mom will never know." Valerie said, leaning against a wall.
"You're a pussy, I use razor blades and my mom is dead." Sam huffed, trying to act all big and better like she usually did.
Paisley's head was in my lap as I played with her hair. I thought the two of them were disgusting. They took self harm as a joke and acted like it was a trend.
I remember when I first tried to cut myself. I was sad, and I wasn't even thinking. This was before I met Paisley. She changed my world.
I eventually distanced myself from them, moving to a different corner. They were nasty, and I didn't even like them.
I eventually went to sleep, resting beside Paisley as the thunder crackled outside and the lighting ran across the sky. I liked the sounds, they helped me sleep. I just didn't like them when I was already stressed out.
I woke up to hearing Paisley wincing and crying, rubbing my eyes and putting my glasses on, I turned on my phone light and saw her scratching herself to the point where she was bleeding.
"Paisley!! What are you doing?!" I whispered yelled, not wanting to draw attention to us, I was scared.
Paisley looked terrified as she was caught, her blue eyes wide with fear as she moved away from me.
"R-Riley! It's not what it looks like-"
"You're self harming?! Paisley, why didn't you wake me up?"
"It's not important."
"It is to me! You should've told me! Look what happened now!"
I lost my cool on her, I knew she must've listened in on Sam and Valerie being assholes and thought that if she hurt herself then it would hurt less.
She just started crying, her bloodied hands covering her face as she apologized repeatedly. It hit me that she didn't even know what she was doing. She was too hurt.
I wiped off her wrists and pulled her close, hugging her tightly as I scolded her gently. She just made this a lot harder on herself and I.
This was bad, and I didn't know if I could forgive her for this.
