Tortured Love

Chapter 6

Lorena's POV.

I wake up to cold rain drenching my skin. I sit up and start packing my belongings into my back pack, when i am finished i start to slowly climb down to dripping wet tree trunk trying not to slip.

After walking about a mile from where i woke up i decided to sit and eat. I grab my water, that had been re-filled out of my bag. Who re-filled it? And took a mouthful then rummaged through my bag a bit. Ouch, i slit my skin on something sharp, i pull out the sharp object which turns out to be a knife. How the hell did that get there?

I take the knife and cut off a chunk of bark from a tree and begin to chew. The rain is still pouring hard as i reach the edge of the forest, i hide behind a bush when i hear a yell.

'HELP' The male voice shouts.

'Where are you?' I hear Hollie shout, this girl really needs to look after her self.

'Run Hollie run' He shouts as the Career tributes approach him from behind, A blonde girl pulls out a sword and viciously stabs him repeatedly in the back. He tumbles to the ground as the others run back towards the cornucopia.

I see Hollie run towards his limp body.

'Hollie?' He whispers.

'Jack i'm here, don't worry' She replies. So his name is jack.

'Hollie?' He whispers again.

'Jack please don't leave me? Please?' She begs. They must of been close. Maybe they paired up or something.

After that Jack didn't reply again, Hollie just sat and cried for about 20 minutes. I stayed silent behind the bush before i slowly tiptoed closer to the edge of the forest and there it was. The cornucopia.

Just a few feet away from the cornucopia stood, all the careers. Including Adam. He quickly turned around and saw me, he stood up and said something i couldn't hear to the others before he came running over to me.

As he got closer i rushed back into the forest.

'Wait' He yelled.

'What' I muttered.

'Are you okay?' He asked.

'I'm fine' I answer.

'Seriously what's wrong Lorena?' He snapped. Awh he knows my name, Lorena snap out of it! 

'My brother' I lie, nothing was wrong with my brother but i couldn't exactly say 'Oh yeah i'm so confused why don't we just pair up for gods sake. I LOVE YOU' Wait what? Did i really just think that about somebody who left me in pain.

'What about him?' He asks concerned.

'I just really miss him' Not a complete lie i suppose.

'I would help you find him but..' He trails off.

'But you have to go back to the careers' I whisper shout.

'Yes, but you ever need anything i'll be there Lorena' He says. There he goes again being all charming.

I didn't reply just walked quickly away scurrying back into the forest before i was even two feet away Adam grabbed my hand and pulled around to face him, our foreheads touching as we stared into each others eyes until he finally lent in and kissed me softly on he lips.

Before i even knew what was happening he pulled away and ran back to the cornucopia.
