Lorena's POV.

As Carter pulled out of the hug i felt the tears start to flow from my eyes onto my cheeks, he left my room to collect his things. In half an hour we would be at the arena, i will do as Carter asked but i am definitely not killing him or anyone for that matter.

I grabbed my few belongings and left the training building and made my way towards the train.

We all sat in a awkward silence the whole train ride which wasn't long. Thank god. Occasionally Haymich would try and break the silence with a few 'so hows everyone feeling' or 'whats up guys'. He got no replies, i was constantly staring out the window ignoring anything anyone said to me.

After about 30 minutes of eery silence we arrived at the secret  location of the arena. The windows went black and the darkness filled the train cart. We went aloud to see where the arena was for some strange reason but whatever. We got off the train and hundreds of news reporters and resedents of the Capitol were awaiting our arrival.

Tomorrow was the day. The day i leave Effie, who has been helping me through the whole experience. And Haymich who on the other hand i wasn't to sad to leave behind. I was snapped out of my thoughts by Carter dragging me through the crowd into the small building.

We walked down a metal, spiral staircase. Effie in the lead, Haymich after, and me and Carter closely following behind.  We walked down a long corridor before i realised we were completely underground, after traveling for about 10 minutes Carter came across a room with his named writen on. We stopped outside and Carter quickly turned around and hugged me so tight i could hardly breathe, but i still squeezed back as hard as i could. He turned from me and nodded at Effie and Haymich who were stood next to me, then slipped into the room.

'Looks like our que to leave' Effie says gesturing towards herself and Haymich. He just nodded at me.

'B-but where do i go now?!' i whisper to Effie as she gives me one last hug.

'Just down the hall abit' She replies pointing down the hallway.

'Good luck sweetheart' Haymich says with a smirk appearing on his lips. I just smile as Effie begins to waddle off. Haymich starts to follow but turns back towards me.

'Don't be stupid, just do as i say sweetheart' He whispers before quickly going after Effie. Do as he says? What does he mean? He hasn't told me to do anything? I just ignore the questions roaming my mind as i slowly wander down the corridor i notice another room with the name 'Hollie Ireland; District 8' stuck on it.

I heard crying coming from the room i had just passed, so i knocked lightly on the door before hearing a quiet 'come in' between sobs. I turned the door knob slowly to reveal a tall, pale skinned girl who looked about my age, laying on a small sofa crying.

I quickly run up to her and soon realise, i'm going to be fighting for my life against this girl..soon i regret coming in.

'Who are you?' She asks and she sits up, drying her tears.

'Lorena green, District 12. I really should be going now..' I say trying not to sound rude.

'Please don't go' She begged. 'You seem rather calm seeing as your risking your life for your District in literally 30 minutes' She says sounding concerned.

'Well i'm going to be dead rather soon, so whats the point in crying over it?' I laugh. She looked shocked by my answer.

'You should at least try!' She yells sounding disappointed. I just roll my eyes and walk out of her room, why did it matter to her what i did anyway?!

I carried on walking down the corridor, passing many rooms until i came across mine 'Lorena Green; District 12' I turned the door knob and walked in. There were black leather trousers and a black leather jacket please on the sofa. I presumed it was for me to wear in the arena so i put on the clothing and sat on the sofa waiting until the dreaded time came..

20 Minutes passed and i heard a knock on my door.

'Come in' I yell just loud enough for the person outside could hear it. A short man, who looked about in his 50's walked in. He came over and took my hand, wishing me good luck and all that. Just then i noticed a door in the corner of the room that was painted the same colour as the walls, The man grinned and lead me over too the door.

He took the key from his pocket and unlocked the door. All that stood in the room was a wide glass tube that i guessed took me up to the arena. I started to walk over to the tube, i turned back to the man he just nodded indicating i was supposed to go in the tube.

I placed on foot into the tube as it revealed a door. I stood in the glass tube for only seconds before the entrance closed, my heart started pounding. I could feel something deep in the pit of my stomach and i started to feel sick, maybe it was just nerves i told myself. I knew for a fact it was nerves.

I started moving up the tube, the metal cylinder pushing me up. Everything goes black. Until the bright sun beams through the trees. I wonder where the Cornacopia is, i remember Haymich talking to me about running to the cornucopia. All i see is miles and miles of forest in front of me, i see two boys on either side of me about 10 metres to the side of me. I continue rising up and before long i am in the open. I can smell the pine trees and hear the birds.

60 seconds, only 60 seconds we have to stand on the metal circle. The wind sends a chill down my spine, i begin to panic. Where should i go? '60, 59, 58, 57, 56, 55.' The manly voice begins the count down. I look past the strongly build boy on the next metal circle, and see her. The girl from District 8 that i had spoken to before, she was looking at me. She nodded her head. was she telling me to run fast into the forest, or stay put? '30, 29, 28, 27, 26, 25.' He continued, where do i have to go?! The girl obviously saw me panicking and gave me a long glare, pointed to the boy next to us and signalled a '1' with her index finger.

She was telling me the boy was from Distict 1, who had been training ever since we we're told about the games. He has a determined look on his face, he was here to win. '10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5.' The voice shouted.  Oh my god i had no idea what i was going to do. '4, 3, 2, 1' He finished. Before i knew what i was doing i was running towards the forest.

sorry its short. -Megan:)
