CHAPTER II

Three years ago...

The void pulsed, a dark heartbeat in the desolate black expanse. The Ninth Layer of the Third Reality was a place where time seemed to stutter,It was here, in the King of Chaos's domain, that Pyevepe stood, her magic coiling around her like a restless serpent.

Across from her, the King of Chaos lounged against nothingness, his wings spread wide, casting long, jagged shadows that seemed to move of their own accord. His yellow cat-like eyes glowed in the gloom, locking onto her with a predatory amusement. "Ah, Pyevepe," he drawled, his voice a silken whisper that echoed unnaturally. "You've come to dance in my domain? How flattering."

Pyevepe didn't answer. Her mask tilted slightly, her piercing blue gaze cutting through the void like a blade. The serene glow of her magic was tinged with an unstable flicker, betraying the tension she kept buried beneath her composed exterior. Her vines coiled around her arms and waist, observing Entity with the same precision.

The King grinned, baring sharp fangs. He pushed off from his perch and stalked toward her with a predator's grace, his claws flexing lazily. "Not in the mood for small talk? A shame. I was going to compliment your courage—stepping into my home, knowing full well what I could do to you."

Still, Pyevepe remained silent, her gloved hands twitching at her sides. The air around her seemed to hum, vibrating with an unspoken challenge.

Her answer came not in words but in action. With a sudden, fluid motion, Pyevepe raised her hand, and the void itself seemed to shatter. A brilliant wave of magic surged forward, light piercing through the oppressive darkness. It crackled with power, a radiant force that threatened to consume everything in its path.

But the King of Chaos was ready. With a flourish of his wings, he dissipated the light with a sweep of his claws, the void around him twisting and reshaping itself into jagged tendrils of darkness that shot toward her. "Ah, there's the fire I remember," he said, grinning as the spells converged on her.

Pyevepe moved like water, her figure a blur as she sidestepped the attack. Her gloves shimmered with intricate patterns of glowing flowers, their delicate beauty belying the destructive force she unleashed. A single swipe of her hand sent arcs of golden energy slicing through the tendrils, scattering them like ash.

"You talk too much," she finally said, her voice cold and steady.

The King's laughter boomed again, louder this time. "And you're as charming as ever." He lunged forward, faster than her eye could track. Claws met steel-tipped gloves in a deafening clash, the impact sending shockwaves rippling through the void.

The two figures became a blur of motion, their strikes and counters creating bursts of light and shadow that illuminated the desolation around them. The King's claws tore through the air with savage precision, each swipe aimed to disarm or unmask her. But Pyevepe's movements were a dance, each step deliberate, her counterattacks swift and unyielding.

As their battle raged, the void itself seemed to react, the oppressive blackness growing denser, more alive. The King grinned, his yellow eyes glinting with unholy glee. "You can't win here, Guardian. This is my realm. Every thread of existence here bends to my will."

"Then I'll tear it apart," Pyevepe replied, her voice like steel.

But then he laughed again, louder and more unhinged. "Oh, I missed this," he said, his voice carrying a dangerous edge. "Come on, Pyevepe. Show me what you're really made of."

The void trembled as Pyevepe thrust her hands into the empty air, summoning forth glowing vines that erupted with a life of their own. The bioluminescent tendrils glimmered with hues of gold and green, their light anathema to the oppressive chaos surrounding them. They lashed out toward the King of Chaos, weaving an intricate pattern that ensnared his jagged tendrils of darkness and burned through them like fire on dry grass.
