Victoria Miller"Sometimes you just have to ride the wave your given?....right?
Well what if that wave isn't an actual wave but instead...its your life. You have to navigate through your journey with different obstacles and pit stops on the way. Nobody said that the wave was easy to ride. You can't simply dive under it and avoid it, you can't just float over it either. You have to position that board, prepare your mind, body and soul for the ride your about to experience for it won't be easy, you might loose your balance, you might totally wipe out, but you get back on your board and ride an even bigger wave.
Take bigger chances, opportunities and risks in your life, don't settle for the smaller things, chase your dreams and reach your goals. Class of 2014.....let's show them that we can Ride that wave!"********
Graduation hats were sprawled everywhere after Victoria's speech, feeling proud of herself and Content with her surroundings she slowly inhaled the salty air of south Carolina.
"I did it. I've graduated. I'm chasing my dreams." She whispered to the sky, "I miss you Jay" she breathed out with a content sigh and watched her fellow class mates cheer in happiness.
Little did Victoria know that the summer before she's supposed to go to USC would change her life and impact her outcome in more ways than she can ever imagine.
Ringing of a phone
"Tori hello?"
Victoria answered her phone in a hurry hoping it was her brother, Keegan. From a small distance Candice, Victoria's best friend was waiting to approach and shower her with hugs, shouting like two mad teenagers who just graduated but as soon as Candice studied the pain and torment that appeared on Tori's face, she erased all previous ideas of celebration from her mind. If Candice had to take a guess, that phone call definitely had something to do with Tori's family.
They always seem to falter Tori's happiness by controlling her or her decisions. Candice has never apologised or felt guilty for judging her friends parents the way she does but what happens next causes Candice the experience of guilt in the worst possible way.
"They can't be dead!!" Tori shouted into the phone as she felt her whole world Collapse under her. She slumped to her knees as her heart shattered and tears ran down her cheeks.
Victoria Miller, Age 19, Graduate and Valedictorian of 2014 never expected that her "Wave" would wipe her out, drag her down to the depth of the dark ocean and leave her there to wither in her own depression.

Aaron Evans"First year down! Well done Team." Aaron fist pumped the air with his teammates in the changing rooms. Being the Quarter Back and Captain of his team there were expectations which included "Not being late for practice" as well as "Get a passing grade". Scholarships sure do play out well for some people.
"I can't believe coach wants us to practice basically the entire summer!" Tristan complained. He is probably the fastest guy on the team and loves to keep fit so any complaints coming from him definitely went to show that coach is crazy for expecting them to practice during summer.
There were a few agreed grunts and irritated expressions shared between the guys but what's done is done. There's no talking coach out of this one.
"Are you going to Drags?" Tristan asked casually while lacing his football Cleats. Aaron pulled his yellow and black football jersey over his head.
Aaron is the type of guy who gets along with everyone but that doesn't mean he likes everyone. He knows who to trust and who not to trust when it comes to friends. Tristan is one of the very few people he trusts, To a certain extent though.
It's nothing personal really, it's just safer that way.
