"You Can't stop the waves....
But you can learn to surf..."
Jon Kabat-ZinnVictoria
"What does it look like?" A chirpy voice asked from the other end of Tori's phone.
"Cand, it looks like any other town along the sea side....the ocean, and a bunch of small town shops. " Tori answered her Friend sarcastically.
"Agh...Tor! You reak of sarcasm."
"I know I know." She stated happily.
Tori had a look around her new room decorated with most of her old things.
She felt her heart constrict at the thought of staying somewhere else....without her family. She drowned the feeling before her traitorous tears could fall. Tori was so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she forgot the fact that Candice was still on the other line.
"Hello?"
"Sorry what did you say?" Tori asked quickly not wanting to worry her Best friend about her well being.
"Are you okay?" Candice asked concerned.
"Yeah sorry I was ....tying my shoe?" Tori offered the lie smoothly but face palmed herself for such a shitty lie.
Candice took a while before finally giving in, deciding not to pester her friend, if Tori wanted to speak to someone, she would.
"Okay. Anyway..." Candice drawled
"No..." Tori answered flatly knowing very well what her friend was about to ask.
"Ah come on!" She shouted playfully.
"You don't even know what I was going to ask!""Oh really? Enlighten me please?" Tori retorted.
She walked around her bed and stopped infront of her window, it looked out to the ocean that seemed only mere meteres away.
She felt some familiar comfort just staring at it but it was short lived when she felt the loathing she had for the ocean surface once again. She pulled her curtains closed and turned her back to it, listening to Candice.
"I was going to ask..."
"Are there any hot guys there?"
"Are there any hot guys here?"Tori and Candice said at the same time.
There was a moment of silence, and then an eruption of giggles came from both of The girls.Tori recovered enough to answer.
"Not that I've seen nope.""Pffft I'm definately not going to visit you then."
Tori opened her mouth to reply but then there was a curt knock at her bedroom door before her Aunt peered her head through the slight gap.
"Cand, I'll call you later. Love you." She said, not waiting for a reply then ending the call.
"Sorry if I've interrupted?" Aunt Kelly offered with a small smile.
"No it's not a problem." Tori followed her aunts gaze and found she was looking at the picture frame that was turned down on Tori's bedside table.
Tori cleared her throat feeling a lump form.
"I'm not ready to look at them yet." She admitted softly.
Aunt Kelly's eyes widened and she quickly walked into Tori's well kept bedroom.Tori stepped back when she realised what her aunt was about to do.
Aunt Kelly stopped abruptly with a sheen to her Blue eyes. Please don't. Don't pity me!
Not you too.
