HER EYES SHOT OPEN WITH A GASP.
she was immediately blinded by a hospital light, dots forming in her vision. she could hear beeping, the continuous, beep, beep, beep, in her ear. eleanor blinked a few times, her head pounding with every movement she made. she looked around, her eyes looking at the fact she wasn't in a hospital- no, it was far from it. there was a single bed in an windowless room, concrete surrounding her. iv's were placed in her arm, putting a liquid in her body. eleanor sat up, her head spinning.
where was she? this wasn't a hospital. this was far from a hospital. eleanor looked at the concrete door, her lips pressing in a thin line. she turned on the bed, placing her bare feet on the concrete floor. she took out her iv's, blood poking out of the holes. eleanor cringed to herself as she stood up, her head spinning. eleanor walked towards the door, goosebumps appearing on her body as the cold air finally hit her.
her hand hovered over the door handle as she took a deep breath. she grabbed the door handle, moving it down to slowly open the door. eleanor swallowed in fear as she peeked out the crack of the door. it was a long dark hallway with one singular door at the end. underneath the door she could see flashing lights like a tv was playing. eleanor noticed there was another hallway as she stepped out of her room, a bright EXIT sign above a door. that was her chance.
eleanor crept through the hallway, her eyes trying to adjust to the darkness. she placed her hand on the cold wall to steady herself. she made it to the second hallway, turning to look down it. her breath was fast, completely filled with fear. she tip toed down the hallway, her eyes staring at the red sign that was her escape. she reached the door, her hand grabbing the door knob. she opened it quickly, causing an alarm to blast.
her heart dropped as she stepped through the door, looking around at her surroundings. she was in the middle of absolute nowhere. trees surrounded the building, with no sign of any life. eleanor took off, her feet hitting the sticks, making her wince in pain. she stumbled, her head throbbing, making her land on the ground. she suddenly heard a yell, making her stand up and continue to sprint. "you can't escape eleanor!" he screamed as she ran through the forest.
her heart was racing in complete fear, her body in pain. her legs wanted to collapse from the pain, but she continued to run. she had no idea where she was going, but she hoped she would make it out of the woods. eleanor tried to calm down her breathing, but she couldn't. she placed her hand on her chest, the other on the tree next to her. her vision started to blur as she stood, making eleanor look around. the man wasn't far, she could practically feel his energy. eleanor took a step, her feet giving out, making her fall to the forest floor.
eleanor cried out in pain, her hands pressing against her head. her nose began to bleed, causing eleanor to quickly wipe away the liquid. she tried to crawl, but her body wouldn't move. it was like someone was draining away her power and her energy. eleanor shut her eyes, this was all a dream, she was in hell. she had to be in hell. she was dead and this was her punishment. after all the evil she did in her 16 years of living, this was hell. eleanor felt tears fill her eyes, she was dead. she never got to live her life. she never got to say goodbye to her friends. she never got to graduate. she was now stuck for the rest of eternity in hell.
