HENRY HART COULDN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT THE MYSTERIOUS MASK GIRL. a part of him wished it was eleanor underneath the hood and the mask, but he started to believe that wasn't his eleanor that looked at him in the eyes. he knew that she had good in her, otherwise she would've just killed him. henry just needed to figure out how to get that good to show, make her leave tom and join them. he knew it was a stretch, but if that was eleanor underneath there, he knew she had good within her.
henry laid in his bed, his eyes on the matching bracelet that eleanor and him had. what if that was her? what if eleanor was alive? would she even remember him? she had no idea henry was kid danger, no matter how many times he tried to tell her and ray wouldn't let him. what if this was all in his head and eleanor was still dead. he watched as her casket went into the ground- the last time he ever saw her was at her funeral.
he remembered that day like it was yesterday. he remembered watching as eleanor was taken away to the hospital. he rushed home to the news that she had died officially from his mother, who was devastated. he remembered staring at his wall for hours, her sweatshirt in his arms. he let her die. he should've saved her. he was so worried about his reputation, that he let the girl he loved die in complete fear.
he could practically see her in her casket. her necklace was tucked underneath her light blue top. she looked so peaceful. her having a funeral was because of henry's parents, jon didn't deserve one. after eleanor died, the truth came out, the way he abused her, the way he killed those innocent people. henry never felt so torn, how did he not see this? if he would've paid more attention, she would still be alive and with him.
henry got out of bed, walking up the stairs in his room to his window. he opened up the window, remembering how many times eleanor snuck in through it. he looked up at the sky, the one thing eleanor loved. she loved the stars. she knew everything about the stars. her and henry would lay on the ground for hours in the night, pointing out stars. after eleanor died, henry looked at them more, for her. he thought that she was there, the brightest star. that was his eleanor.
the blonde sat next to his window, looking up at the stars. oh how he wished that she was there with him. she never got to go to her concert she was so excited for. she never got to turn 16, the age she wished she was when she was younger. henry never got to tell her he loved her. he hoped that she knew how much he loved her, but he knew that she died knowing he never said it.
the bracelet suddenly fell from his nightstand, causing henry to turn around. he walked towards it, slowly picking it up. he turned around to see eleanor, a faded eleanor, standing there. her back was towards him, but he knew it was her. "el?" he asked outloud. the redhead turned around, her eyes going wide as she held the necklace in her hand. she squinted, like she couldn't see him. "hey, el!" he exclaimed, but as he reached for her, she disappeared.
